Demnach beinhaltet die Erfindung einen Heizkörper, insbesondere einen Designheizkörper, der aus mindestens zwei Flachheizkörpern besteht, wobei die Flachheizkörper vertikal zueinander angeordnet sind und in modularer Bauweise über gemeinsame Vor- und Rücklaufrohre miteinander verbunden sind. Nach einem besonderen Merkmal der Erfindung sind die Vor- und Rücklaufrohre gleichzeitig als seitliche Abdeckung des Heizkörpers ausgebildet. Die Schaffung des erfindungsgemäßen Heizkörpers mit hoher Wärmeleistung erfolgt vorwiegend durch Nutzung von für übliche Flachheizkörper vorhandenen Bauteilen. Dadurch können die Herstellungs-, Investitions- und Entwicklungskosten gering gehalten werden. Im Vergleich zu herkömmlichen Designheizkörpern wird durch die Verwendung verschiedenster Flachheizkörperplatten ein sehr breitgefächertes Leistungsspektrum und eine kompakte Leistungsdichte ermöglicht. Nach einem weiteren Merkmal der Erfindung weisen die vertikal zueinander angeordneten Flachheizkörper eine gemeinsame Regeleinheit auf. Die vertikal zueinander angeordneten Serien-Flachheizkörper können auch verschiedenen Leistungsklassen angehören, d. h. es können verschiedenartigste Flachheizkörperplatten (Typ 10, Typ 11, Typ 12, Typ 22 usw.) miteinander verbunden werden.
