Die Anzeigeeinheit ist vorzugsweise programmgesteuert. Das Programm besteht aus einem Interrupt-Handler, der für das korrekte Zählen der Uhr zuständig ist. Sonstige Modus-Änderungen und Tastenabfragen geschehen innerhalb des Hauptprogramms, dessen Hauptschleife (Label mainloop) grösstenteils immer durchlaufen wird. Ausnahmen bilden diejenigen Modi, bei deren Anzeige Warteprozeduren verwendet wurden (waitSec, waitHalfSec, waitQuarterSec und andere Warteschleifen). Im wesentlichen sind dies die Anzeige des Datums und der Uhrzeit, beziehungsweise der verbleibenden Zeit im Countdown-Modus.
