Als Ergänzung zur täglichen Dosennahrung bzw. als Alleinfuttermittel sind für Haustiere (Hunde, Katzen) zahlreiche Trockenfuttermittel auf dem Markt, die in verschiedenen Arten und Packungsgrößen angeboten werden. Die Versorgung des Haustiers wird üblicherweise vom Tierhalter so vorgenommen, daß eine beliebige Menge Trockenfutter in einen Freßnapf umgefüllt und mehr oder weniger regelmäßig dem Tier angeboten wird. Die zeitliche und mengenmäßige Versorgung setzt die Präsenz des Tierhalters voraus, geschieht ausschließlich nach dessen Maßgabe und orientiert sich &Lgr; nicht immer an den Bedürfnissen des Tieres.As a supplement to daily canned food or as a complete feed, there are numerous dry foods on the market for pets (dogs, cats), which are offered in different types and pack sizes.
