"Jewel"

The present invention relates to a piece of jewelry with a jewelry element and a holding element that passes through a through hole of the jewelry element and thereby receives the jewelry element.

In a piece of jewelry, such as a ring, the decorative element, such as a pearl or a gemstone, is usually held in a setting that is attached to a ring. The setting can also be attached to a chain or a bracelet. The setting must have special means that hold the decorative element securely in the setting. These means can either be bent sections of the setting itself that firmly hold the decorative element in the setting. The decorative element can also be glued into the setting.

The disadvantage of these pieces of jewelry is that it is necessary to provide a setting for the jewelry element and that attaching the jewelry element to the setting is either complex to manufacture or there is a risk of loss when gluing the jewelry element to the setting, which is particularly disadvantageous with very valuable jewelry elements.

Furthermore, it is common, for example in the case of jewelry chains, to provide spherical jewelry elements with a through hole and to thread a platinum wire as a holding element through several jewelry elements designed in this way so that they are held by the wire.

A disadvantage of such a chain can be that the jewelry elements held by the wire are not stationary. Furthermore, such a holding of the jewelry element cannot simply be transferred to a finger ring, as the jewelry element could move on the ring and will not always stay in the same place when worn.

It is the object of the present invention to provide a piece of jewelry in which a jewelry element is attached to a holding element in a particularly simple and aesthetically pleasing manner.

This object is achieved by a piece of jewelry having the features of claim 1, with advantageous embodiments arising from the subclaims.

The piece of jewelry according to the invention is characterized in that the holding element is designed as an open spiral ring with spring-loaded turns, that the spiral ring has at least two turns, that the two open ends of the ring with the section of a turn that receives the jewelry element in between are arranged opposite one another and are bent towards one another essentially at right angles, and that the jewelry element has two holes or a further through hole in a direction perpendicular to the through hole through which the jewelry element is received by the holding element, into which the two open bent ends of the ring engage.

The advantage of the piece of jewelry according to the invention is that the jewelry element is held reliably due to the ring's winding passing through the through hole. Furthermore, the engagement of the bent ends of the ring in the holes running perpendicular to the through hole means that the jewelry element is held in place in a simple and aesthetically pleasing manner. In particular, the jewelry element does not need to be glued in the piece of jewelry according to the invention.

In one embodiment of the invention, the piece of jewelry further comprises a bowl-shaped element which has the shape of half a hollow sphere with an inner diameter which is larger than the extent of the part of the jewelry element which comprises the holes in the jewelry element. Furthermore, in this embodiment, the jewelry element is arranged at least with this part within the bowl-shaped element and the bowl-shaped element has at least four holes adjacent to the exit openings of the holes in the jewelry element, through which the section of a winding which receives the jewelry element and the two bent ends of the ring each pass.

The advantage of this design of the piece of jewelry according to the invention is that the bowl-shaped element gives the impression of a setting, but it does not have to have any means to hold the jewelry element, since the fastening of the jewelry element is only done by the open spiral ring. This design enables the designer of the piece of jewelry to design the bowl-shaped element in a variety of ways, without being limited in terms of design by the fact that the bowl-shaped element has to frame the jewelry element.

In the piece of jewelry according to the invention, the ring can be made of steel, gold and/or platinum, the jewelry element can be spherical and furthermore the jewelry element can be a pearl.

As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the piece of jewelry has an open spiral ring 1, which serves as a holding element for the jewelry element 2. In the embodiment shown here, the spiral of the ring 1 comprises two turns, i.e. the ring runs around the inner surface of the ring twice, with the ends of the spiral remaining open. Furthermore, the turns of the spiral ring lie against one another and are held there by a spring tension of the spiral ring. Since the spiral ring 1 has exactly two turns, the open ends 3a and 3b of the ring 1 end opposite one another, with the middle section of the spiral ring 1 lying between the two open ends 3a and 3b.

The open ends 3a and 3b of the ring are bent towards each other at substantially right angles, so that when the spring-loaded spiral ring 1 is pressed apart at the ends 3a and 3b, the end faces of the open ends 3a and 3b substantially abut one another.

The section of the winding of the spiral ring 1 passes through this through hole 4, in which the bent ends 3a and 3b of the ring 1 are arranged. Furthermore, the decorative element 2 either has a further through hole 5 that runs perpendicular to the through hole 4 (Figure 3) or it has two holes 5a and 5b on opposite sides of the decorative element 2 in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the through hole 4 (Figure 4). In the attached state of the decorative element 2, i.e. when a turn of the ring 1 passes through the through hole 4, the ends 3a and 3b of the ring 1 are bent up in such a way that the bent parts of these ends engage opposite one another in the through hole 5 or in the holes 5a and 5b and are pressed into the hole 5 or the holes 5a and 5b due to the spring tension of the ring 1.

By engaging the bent ends 3a and 3b of the ring 1 in the bore 5 or the bores 5a and 5b, it is no longer possible for the decorative element 2 to move in the circumferential direction of the ring 1. This means that the decorative element 2 is securely and permanently attached to the piece of jewelry without a special setting having to be attached to the ring or gluing the decorative element 2 to the ring 1 being necessary.

Figure 5 shows a further embodiment of the piece of jewelry according to the invention. In this embodiment, in addition to the parts already described, a bowl-shaped element 6 is provided. This bowl-shaped element essentially has the shape of half a hollow sphere with an inner diameter that is larger than the extent of the part of the jewelry element 2 that includes the holes 4 and 5 or 4, 5a, 5b. However, other shapes of the bowl-shaped element 6 are also conceivable, as long as it can enclose the part of the jewelry element 2 with the holes.

In the piece of jewelry according to the invention of this embodiment, the jewelry element 2 is arranged within the bowl-shaped element 6, at least with the part of the jewelry element 2 that includes the holes. The jewelry element 2 can either lie against the inner wall of the bowl-shaped element 6 or be spaced apart from this inner wall. The bowl-shaped element 6 has at least four holes 7 that are arranged adjacent to the outlet openings of the holes 4 and 5 or 4 and 5a, 5b of the jewelry element 2. The section of a turn of the spiral ring 1 that has the jewelry element 2 passes through two of these holes 7 of the bowl-shaped element 6 in order to accommodate both the bowl-shaped element 6 and the jewelry element 2.

Furthermore, the bent ends 3a and 3b of the ring 1 each pass through a bore 7 in the bowl-shaped element 6 in order to then engage in the through-bore 5 or the bores 5a and 5b of the decorative element 2 and thereby hold both the bowl-shaped element 6 and the decorative element 2 in place.

In the embodiments, the ring 1 can be made of any material as long as it can generate a spring tension for the windings and the ends 3a and 3b can be bent stably. For example, the ring 1 can be made of steel, gold and/or platinum.

The decorative element 2 can have any shape in which the corresponding holes can be made.

Furthermore, the decorative element 2 can be made of any material. For example, the decorative element 2 can be a spherical pearl.

Claims (6)

PROTECTION CLAIMS 1. A piece of jewellery with a jewellery element (2) and a holding element which passes through a through hole (4) of the jewellery element (2) and thereby receives the jewellery element (2), characterized in that that the holding element is designed as an open spiral ring (1) with spring-loaded windings, that the spiral ring (1) has at least two turns, that the two open ends (3a, 3b) of the ring (1) with the section of a winding receiving the decorative element (2) in between, are arranged opposite one another and are bent towards one another essentially at right angles and that the decorative element (2) has two holes (5a, 5b) or a further through hole (5) in a direction perpendicular to the through hole (4), into which the two open bent ends (3a, 3b) of the ring (1) engage. 2. Piece of jewellery according to claim 1, characterized in that the piece of jewellery further comprises a shell-shaped element (6), that the decorative element (2) is arranged at least with the part within the shell-shaped element (6) which contains the bores (4, 5; 5a, 5b) of the decorative element (2), and
that the bowl-shaped element (6) has at least four bores (7) adjacent to the outlet openings of the bores (4, 5; 5a, 5b) of the decorative element (2), through which the section of a winding receiving the decorative element (2) and the two bent ends (3a, 3b) of the ring (1) each pass. 3. Piece of jewellery according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the shell-shaped element (6) has substantially the shape of half a hollow sphere. 4. Piece of jewellery according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the ring (1) consists of steel, gold and/or platinum. 5. Piece of jewellery according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the jewellery element (2) is spherical. 6. Piece of jewellery according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the decorative element (2) is a pearl.
