Bei verschiedenen Nierenersatztherapien { Peritoneal Dialyse - Verfahren ) werden im Abdomen Katheter implantiert, die aus dem Körper heraus geführt sind um Stoff Wechsel-Vorrichtungen zu installieren. Die Stelle an der ein Katheter aus dem Körper austritt ist sehr infektion-/sanfällig und muß steril gehalten werden. Bisher werden OP-Kompressen verwendet die für diese Aufgabe nicht op timal geeignet sind, da sie den Katheter nicht völlig umschließen. Sie bietet den Vorteil daß nicht umständlich eine herkömmliche Kompresse über die gesamte Katheterlänge gestülpt werden muß und sie liegt den Schlauch eng umschließend an. Die Verbandwechsel werden einfacher und die Körperaustrittsstelle exakt dort wo nötig, viel besser abgedeckt und vor Infektionen geschützt. Die Kompresse ist für alle Therapiearten anwendbar, bei denen Katheter-Austrittsstellen steril abgedeckt sein müssen.The compress is rectangular and has two openings with overlapping slits running outwards.
