Die dem Stand der Technik entsprechenden hinterleuchteten Bilderrahmen besitzen zumeist ein recht hohes Gewicht und sind aufgrund der recht steifen Glas- bzw. Kunststoffvorderfläche empfindlich gegenüber mechanischen Einflüssen wie z. B. dem Umfallen. Vorzugsweise ist das Spannteil als ebene Platte ausgeführt, die elastisch zu eine Kreiszylinderausschnitt gebogen wird. Die abgebildete Ausführungsform einer erfindungsgemäßen Bilderhalterung umfaßt, wie aus Fig. 1 ersichtlich wird, eine flache, rechteckige Folientasche 2, welche aus zwei planparallelen Folien 22 aus transparentem Material besteht, die an zwei gegenüberliegenden Seitenrändern miteinander verbunden, z. B. verschweißt sind. An diesen in Fig. 1 linken und rechten Seitenrändern der Folientasche 2 ist zwischen den beiden Folien jeweils ein Abstandhalter 23 angeordnet. Die Abstandhalter 23 sind vorzugsweise als Holzleisten von rechteckigen Querschnitten ausgeführt. Eine alternative Ausführungsform der Folientasche 2 sieht vor, daß diese aus einem Folienschlauch, welcher den doppelten Umfang der Folientaschenbreite zuzüglich der doppelten Folientaschendicke besitzt, durch Einziehen der Abstandhalter 23 und anschließendes Spannen der Folie 22 durch Auseinanderziehen der beiden Abstandhalter 23 voneinander gebildet wird. Bei einer weiteren bevorzugten Ausführungsform der vorliegenden Erfindung wird die Folientasche 2 aus einem relativ langen Stück Folie durch Umfalten hergestellt. Die Falte bildet in diesem Fall den unteren Rand der Folientasche 2.
