Tire transport and storage box Description:

Tires can be stored and transported in different ways.

According to the manufacturer's instructions, tires should be stored in a dry, dust-free and dark place so that the rubber does not become porous and the tire is not damaged. Due to the risk of deformation and possible resulting imbalance, tires should not be placed on top of each other or stored on top of each other.

Well-known storage options for tires are so-called rim trees, in which the tires are guided with the hub over a rod and stacked on top of each other on intermediate plates. Tires are also often hung on the wall with special hooks. Another common storage option is simply stacking the tires. Here the tires are simply placed on top of each other.

The problems that arise when using these storage options are, firstly, that the tires cannot always be stacked on a rim tree due to their size. If, for example, the bottom tire is needed, a great deal of effort and time is required because the upper tires have to be lifted down first. In addition, all intermediate plates have to be loosened and removed. In addition, all tires have to be lifted over the guide rod. Secondly, the tires are not adequately protected against dust and light without additional aids (blanket or similar). If the hanging storage option is chosen on the wall, in addition to the aforementioned disadvantages of the lack of dust and light protection, there is also the risk that the walls could become significantly dirty. In addition, a not insignificant number of tires cannot be stored in this form at all due to their size, weight and type of rim. Another disadvantage of this storage variant is the risk that high-quality aluminum rims can be damaged by the hanging device. The biggest disadvantage of stacking tires on top of each other is the risk of an imbalance that can even cause the tires to burst.

When transporting tires, they must either be rolled or carried with effort. If a tire change is necessary at a tire dealer (e.g. changing from winter to summer tires or vice versa), the tires must be transported to this point in the vehicle. In many cases, the capacity in the trunk is not sufficient to transport all of the tires. Therefore, the passenger compartment often has to be used.

The problems that arise from this are in particular the enormous physical effort required to carry and lift the tires, as well as the risk of soiling and damaging the trunk and passenger compartment.

The invention specified in claims 1 and 2 is based on the problem of creating a box that enables safe, easier and clean transport of tires and enables proper, easy and clean storage of tires in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.

This problem is solved by the features set out in claims 1 and 2.

The invention ensures that commercially available vehicle tires can be stored in a dust-free, dark and dry place in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. The tires can be safely stored on top of each other without the risk of deformation. High-quality aluminum rims cannot be damaged by holding devices.

Furthermore, easy and problem-free transport of the tires can be ensured. The wheels on the underside of the boxes allow the tires to be rolled in the box to their destination (car, storage area). The handles on the boxes make it easier to lift and carry the tires. The tire boxes not only protect the tires when they are stored, but they also ensure clean transport in the vehicle. Dirt on the tires cannot penetrate through the closed boxes. The transport and passenger compartments remain clean.

Another advantage of the tire boxes is the possibility of easier labeling. A marking field can be set on the outside to show the contents (e.g. tire, front left, etc.).
