Description

Electric shaver.

Electric or battery-operated razors of conventional design do not have the option of replacing the actual razor head with a toothbrush attachment.

A conventional electric toothbrush is so bulky with brush attachments and a power supply or charger that you don't even need to take it with you when you travel or go on vacation.

The electrically operated razor addresses this problem by allowing it to be converted into a fully functional so-called "electric toothbrush" in accordance with the features listed in the protection claims.

The invention means that people who are travelling or on holiday - if they are used to shaving or brushing their teeth electrically - can do this with just one device and the corresponding accessories. The entire set is hardly larger than a "normal" electric razor. The price should also be less than what two separate devices would cost.

It should be noted that the aforementioned invention can of course not only be used when travelling, but also at home.

Fig. 1 shows the side view of the shaver plugged into the charging unit (5). In order to avoid having any mains voltage on the device itself for safety reasons, the batteries are charged inductively (state of the art).

The front surface of the charging part is designed to match the slope of the separating surface between the housing (2) and the attachment (1) and accommodates the toothbrush attachment (3/4) using a bayonet lock. A toothbrush [(4), partner] without the joint attachment (3) can be placed to the side.

For a better grip of the attachments when changing them, grooved plastic inserts (6) are flush-mounted on the sides.

A transparent synthetic glass cover (7) encloses the entire set, with the charging part (5) serving as the base.

It would also be conceivable to raise the charging part (5) in order to accommodate the required power cable in this space when not in use.

Since the housing part (2) according to claim 1 also serves as a handle and drive part for the toothbrush holder, it must be designed to be water-protected. This means that

- that the switch (8) operates without a housing feedthrough (magnet/reed contacts, state of the art).

- that the base part (9) is screwed tightly to the charging electronics, or without them in the case of battery operation (with fixed seal).

- that the drive bushing (10) in Fig. 2 is sealed by a flexible sleeve.

Fig. 2 shows a schematic vertical section from the front, corresponding to the position of Fig. 4. This shows a possible arrangement of the main components:

- The charging electronics in the base part (9) with the secondary coil,

- the accumulators (11), here 2 pieces with 1.25 volt cell voltage each in the size "Mignon" type AA, or corresponding disposable batteries with the appropriate base part without charging electronics.

- The DC motor (12), whose rotary movement is controlled by means of eccentric shaft (13)

and the rotatably mounted connecting lever (14) is converted into a back and forth movement on the rocking lever (10) (state of the art). The part of this rocking lever protruding from the housing (2) then drives the shaving head (1) or the toothbrush attachment (3/4) in the usual, previously known manner.

In this case, the razor or toothbrush attachment is fixed in place using a bayonet lock with a 1/16 turn. The housing recesses (15) required for this are designed as blind holes in order to ensure watertightness.

Other coupling mechanisms are also conceivable, both with regard to the drive and the attachments.

Fig. 3 as a horizontal section at the level of the accumulators shows the minimization of the housing (2) in the handle area. This ensures ergonomic handling of the device both as a toothbrush and as a razor.

Fig. 4 shows the device from the front, equipped as a shaver.

Possible LEDs (16/17) provide information about the charging status, vulcanized grip cams (18) made of rubber or correspondingly soft plastic give the metal/plastic housing the necessary grip.
