Das Kernstück der Kletterkombinationen-Verlaufs-Anzeige ist das Steuermodul (1), das eine Mikrocontroller-Einheit mit Tastatur (3) als Eingabeelement und Display (2) als Anzeigeelement darstellt. Über die Tastatur (3) können Daten von Kletterkombinationen eingegeben werden, die dann sowohl auf flüchtigen als auch nicht flüchtigen Speicherbausteinen abgespeichert werden können. Diese Kletterkombinationen werden über die Tastatur (3) aufgerufen und können z. B. über die Funktionstasten (8) des Handbedienmoduls (7), ein Mikrofon oder Zeitautomatik gestartet und ausgeführt werden. Dabei werden die binären Daten vom Steuermodul (1) über die Datenleitung (5) seriell an die Verteilermodule (9) gesendet und von dort parallel zu den entsprechenden optischen Anzeigeelementen (10), die bei jedem Griff (11) der Kletterwand (12) anzubringen sind, weitergeleitet. Das Steuermodul wird über einen Netzstecker (4) mit einer Steckdose (13) des normalen Hausstromnetzes verbunden und von dort versorgt.
