Bei den herkömmlichen Flachstrahldüsen, für solche luftlos zerstäubenden Spritzpistolen, muss die Austrittsöffnung im Düsenkopf sehr schmal sein, da die Zerstäubung nur durch den, vom Förderaggregat erzeugten Druck erfolgt. Dadurch, dass die Düsenöffnung extrem schmal sein muss, ist die Düse sehr oft durch kleine Unreinheiten, die sich in jeder Farbe befinden können, verstopft.
