An dem aufgesprungenen Doppeldeckel sitzt die Stempelplatte / mit den in dem Einschnitt i befestigten Typen; q ist das Farbekissen.On the cracked double cover sits the stamp plate / with the types fastened in the incision i; q is the pad of paint.

Fig. 3 zeigt den Stempel vollständig geöffnet, beide Deckel aus einander geklappt. Der Deckel m dient nur zum äufseren Verschlufs des Stempels. Der Deckel h hingegen, an welchem die Rückseite der Typen e zu sehen ist, dient zur Aufnahme derselben sowohl, als auch zur Befestigung der Stempelplatte /. Die Spiralfeder o, Fig. 2 und 3, dient dazu, die Deckel aufspringen zu lassen und die Stempelplatte p in der Lage zu halten, dafs der Theil/ beim Stempeln nicht hindert.Fig. 3 shows the stamp fully opened, both covers folded apart. Befindet sich der Bügel b in verticaler Lage, so dient er 1. als Griff, 2. tritt der daran sitzende Dorn c aus der Oese g heraus und der Deckel springt, durch die Spiralfeder 0 getrieben, auf. Das Zurücktreten des Dorns c geschieht durch die schräge Rückwärtsbewegung des Bügels b.
