Abstract

A dog suffering or recovering from a disease affecting his ability to mount stairs or to enter a vehicle, but otherwise of good health can be lifted or carried temporarily in the new design of a carrier. The device is made of three rectangular (S1, T) and two square sheets (S2), comprising a watertight outer layer, a soft central layer, and an inner layer made of any suitable material. Transport bag for dogs that cannot be lifted or climbed into any other container due to a disability.

After reviewing the relevant documentation and what is available in pet stores, such a bag, which can be opened completely flat and closed again, is not available on the market.

Dogs must climb into or be lifted into commercially available transport containers.

The problem underlying the invention was an old dog who, having just avoided dachshund paralysis, was no longer able to climb stairs, jump into a car or be lifted onto a veterinarian's table. He could only walk on flat ground and could no longer lift or carry himself.

The advantage of the invention of this transport bag is that it can be turned into a carrying bag by means of four zips on the sides, lying flat on the ground so that the dog can walk on it. After closing the zips and grasping the three handles (one on each of the wide sides, the third on one of the narrow sides. It serves to catch the weight of the dog as it shifts towards it), the dog can be lifted up and down stairs, into cars, onto the vet's table, etc. in the bag. The whole process is repeated in reverse to walk on the street or in the house again. This saves the dog from having to climb or jump in any way, or may save it from being put down if it is otherwise healthy.

Protection is sought for the invention of the ability to completely open the bag using four zippers.

Design of the bag:

Production

'a) Cut the outer fabric, foam insert and inner fabric to the same size (see drawing Sl, S2, T).

b) If required, place the hard tread (T) between the foam and the outer fabric and fix this rectangle using a strong needle on the sewing machine.

c) Fasten the outer fabric, foam and inner fabric together at all edges using large zigzag stitches.

d) Finish the outer edges with edging tape.

e) Sew in four zippers (R) (see drawing)

f) Attach one handle (H 1) to each broad side

g) Attach a handle to one of the narrow sides (H2).
