Table with height-adjustable table leg

The invention relates to a table with a height-adjustable table leg.

The height adjustment of tables is of interest and well-known in the office furniture sector, for example. The height adjustment is not only desirable for the purpose of a generally small height compensation in the event of unevenness of the floor, but also to bring a table to different working heights.

The object of the present invention is to achieve this objective by simple means.

This object is achieved according to the invention, for example, in that a head piece of the table leg is equipped with a console forming an internal thread, into which a foot tube provided with an external thread can be screwed with height adjustment. In this way, not only is a simple height adjustment possible at low cost, but this can also be implemented in an aesthetic manner.

In a special embodiment of the invention, the head piece has a guide tube passing through the console, which can extend relatively far into the foot tube in order to stabilize it.

As a further feature of the invention, it is proposed that the external thread of the foot tube is provided on a threaded plug that can be fixed in the upper end of the foot tube and is made of plastic, for example. In this way, a simple pipe material of a predetermined length can be used for the foot tube.

The threaded plug can be fixed axially in the base tube using locking hooks, for example. The locking hooks can engage in corresponding openings in the wall of the base tube.

The invention further proposes that the threaded plug for transmitting force when the foot tube is rotated about its axis, for example when the foot tube is to be screwed into or out of the bracket, engages with an axial nose in an edge recess of the foot tube. These means can also be produced simply and inexpensively.

It is also advantageous if the threaded plug has, for example, rib-like tolerance compensation means on its inner surface to the guide tube in order to ensure further stabilization of the foot tube on the console.

In order to ensure that the threaded plug has a reliable fit in the upper end of the foot tube, it can have ribs on its outer surface in the area that penetrates into the foot tube, which adapt to the inner surface of the foot tube.

According to a further embodiment of the invention, the guide tube is equipped with a sliding element on which the foot tube can be supported relative to the guide tube even during a height adjustment.

The sliding element can be pressed into the lower open end of the guide tube, for example.

The sliding element can be equipped with, for example, flexible slats as a tolerance compensation device for the base tube.

If the console is made of sheet metal, for example, it is advantageous if it is equipped with diagonal slots to form the threads of the internal thread. These also form an aesthetic element of a table equipped in this way.

As can be seen most easily from Fig. 1 and 2, a table according to the invention is equipped with one or more table legs B. Each table leg B has at its upper end a generally metal head piece 13 with a horizontal leg, which is intended for connection to the table top or frame to be supported (not shown). The head piece 13 is provided with a bracket 1, which surrounds a metal guide tube 2, for example, at a distance. The bracket 1 is made of sheet metal, for example, and has threads of an internal thread, which appear optically as oblique slots 17.

A metal foot tube 3, for example, is equipped at its upper end with a threaded plug 2 made of plastic, which has an external thread 15 that matches the internal thread of the console 1. The foot tube 3 with the threaded plug 4 can be pushed onto the guide tube 2 and its height can be adjusted by turning it into the console 1.

As can be seen from Fig. 3, the lower end of the guide tube 2 is provided with a sliding element 5. This can also be made of plastic and is pressed into the lower end of the tube. The section of the sliding element 5 protruding from the lower end of the tube is provided with slats 14, which can be equipped with ribs, which serve as tolerance compensation means in the guide tube 3.

As can be seen from Fig. 3 and 4, the threaded plug 4 can be axially fixed to the base tube 3 by means of two locking hooks 8, the locking hooks 8 engaging in corresponding openings in the wall of the base tube 3, so that unlocking is also possible if the locking hooks 8 are provided on flexible tabs 11. In order to prevent the threaded plug 4 from twisting relative to the base tube 3 when the height is adjusted in the threads of the bracket 1, the threaded plug 4 engages with two opposing axial lugs 9 in corresponding edge recesses 16 of the base tube 3. In addition to the flexible tabs 11, the threaded plug 4 has fixed ribs 10 on its inner surface to compensate for tolerances on the guide tube 2. The threaded plug 4 adapts to the inner diameter of the base tube 3 by means of external axially running ribs 12. The external thread 15 is only provided in the section of the threaded plug 4 protruding from the base tube 3.

In addition to the assembly as explained in connection with Fig. 1 and 2, the height-adjustable table leg according to the invention can be assembled as follows:
First, the threaded plug 4 is pushed up on the guide tube 2 and screwed into the internal thread formed by the oblique slots 17 of the bracket 1 until the locking hooks 8 are opposite the windows 7 in the guide tube 2. A pin 6 can be used to prevent the threaded plug 4 from being unscrewed from the bracket 1. The sliding element 5 is then secured to the lower end of the guide tube 2 and the base tube 3 is pushed onto the threaded plug 4 until the locking hooks 8 engage. The nose 9 of the threaded plug 4 engages in the edge recess 16 of the base tube 3. The windows 7 in the guide tube 2 allow the locking hooks 8 to give way inwards.

Claims (11)

Table with height-adjustable table leg (B), in which a head piece ( 13 ) of the table leg (B) is equipped with a console ( 1 ) forming an internal thread, into which a foot tube ( 3 ) provided with an external thread ( 15 ) can be screwed with height adjustment. 2. Table according to claim 1, characterized in that the head piece ( 13 ) has a guide tube ( 2) passing through the console (1 ) for the foot tube ( 3 ) surrounding it. 3. Table according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the external thread ( 15 ) of the foot tube ( 3 ) is provided on a threaded plug ( 4 ) which can be fixed in the upper end of the foot tube ( 3 ). 4. Table according to claim 3, characterized in that the threaded plug ( 4 ) can be axially fixed in the base tube ( 13 ) by means of locking hooks ( 8 ). 5. Table according to claim 3 or 4, characterized in that the threaded plug ( 4 ) for transmitting force when the base tube ( 2 ) is rotated about its axis engages with a nose ( 9 ) in an edge recess ( 16 ) of the base tube ( 3 ). 6. Table according to one of claims 3 to 5, characterized in that the threaded plug ( 4 ) has on its inner surface, for example, rib-like tolerance compensation means ( 10 , 11 ) to the guide tube ( 2 ). 7. Table according to one of claims 3 to 6, characterized in that the threaded plug ( 4 ) has ribs ( 12 ) on its outer surface in its area dipping into the base tube ( 2 ) which adapt to the inner surface of the base tube ( 2 ). 8. Table according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the guide tube ( 2 ) is equipped with a sliding element ( 5 ). 9. Table according to claim 8, characterized in that the sliding element ( 5 ) can be pressed into the open end of the guide tube ( 2 ). 10. Table according to claim 8 or 9, characterized in that the sliding element ( 5 ) is equipped with, for example, flexible slats ( 14 ) as a tolerance compensation means to the base tube ( 2 ). 11. Table according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the console ( 1 ) is equipped with oblique slots ( 17 ) to form the threads of its internal thread.
