The invention describes a sanitary appliance which makes it possible to extend an existing shower installation in such a way that washing, e.g. in the intimate or foot area, is made significantly easier.

With the usual showers, this type of washing is only possible using the shower hose with a hand shower. This means that you have to wash with one hand and your freedom of movement is restricted by the shower hose.

The invention makes it possible to carry out washing in a targeted manner and without hindrance by switching the water flow from the hose/shower head to a second water outlet, permanently installed in a suitable position.

For this purpose, a switch with two water outlets is installed at the existing water outlet of the shower hose instead of the hose, which can then be switched alternatively.

One switch outlet directs the water into an apparatus that is specifically designed for washing the intimate area, while the other outlet supplies the familiar shower hose/shower head combination with water.

By simply switching, you can now choose whether the washing water is supplied via the additional washing device for the intimate area or, as before, via the shower hose with shower head.

The necessary equipment can be integrated into an existing shower in just a few simple steps. The invention therefore leads to significantly increased ease of use when taking care of your body, whereby the type of water outlet can be adapted to the user's needs, e.g. soft, hard or pulsating jet, shower with or without air mixture.

The known shower installation according to Figure 1 is characterized by a standardized screw connection between the wall fitting Pos.1 (hot/cold or thermostatic battery) and the shower hose Pos.2, further connected via the same screw connection Pos.8 with the hand shower Pos.3.

A conversion of the existing shower installation to a shower bidet is carried out by:

If the additional fitting is not installed from the outset, retrofitting it into an existing shower installation - as described above - is not difficult and can be carried out in a very short time even by a layperson.

Sanitary installation characterized in that a changeover switch directs the water supply either to the hose (item 2') and hand shower (item 3') or to an additional fitting for washing the intimate area (items 6, 5, 7). 2.
