Description

Area of application and state of the art

The invention relates to a holder for a mobile phone according to the preamble of claim 1.

From the state of the art, holders for mobile phones are known that are designed in particular for vehicles. These mobile phones, also known under the term "cell phone", are designed as standard with electrical plug connections at the lower end of the housing and a coaxial antenna plug at the rear in the upper part of the housing. In such systems, a base holder of the same design can be permanently installed in a car, for example. The mobile phone is inserted into or attached to a telephone adapter designed to match it. This telephone adapter has a suitable standardized electrical connection to the base holder and can be attached to the base holder together with the mobile phone. The problem here is establishing the electrical connection, particularly with regard to the coaxial connection to the mobile phone antenna.

Task and solution

The invention is based on the object of creating a holder for a mobile phone as mentioned above, in which the electrical connection to the mobile phone is simplified and good functionality is ensured.

This object is achieved by a holder with the features of claim 1. Advantageous and preferred developments of the invention are the subject of the subclaims and are explained in more detail below. The content of the claims is made part of the content of the description by reference.

According to the invention, the electrical connection to the antenna connection of the mobile phone on the standardized electrical connection by means of which the base holder and telephone adapter are connected has contacts that are not coaxial in nature. This can be achieved particularly advantageously by means of contacts lying next to one another, for example in the manner of a contact strip or the like. In this way, a coaxial plug connection that is complex both in terms of production and in operation and handling can be replaced by a contact or plug device that is much easier to handle and use.

Due to the high sensitivity of the mobile phone antenna or generally of an antenna connection to interference, its electrical contact should be made as coaxially as possible or with coaxial cables. According to the invention, this is done in favor of simple contacting.

The possibility of contact in the transition between the base holder and the telephone adapter has been abandoned. Here, there are contacts next to each other. These are not necessarily directly next to each other, but can be spaced apart. If necessary, at least one of the two contacts can be shielded from the outside or from other contacts next to it. In this way, a simple and functionally sufficient contacting option is provided.

Furthermore, it is advantageous to make the electrical connection for the antenna connection in conjunction with other electrical connections to the mobile phone or the telephone adapter. A preferred option here is a contact strip with several contact options next to each other. If one of these contact options is used for the electrical connection to the antenna connection, only a single electrical connection is required between the telephone adapter and the base holder. This enables a very simple structure. Furthermore, when attaching the telephone adapter to the base holder, only this one connection needs to be made and not, as was previously the case, two connections, one of which was more complex as a coaxial connection anyway.

The connection for the antenna connection between the mobile phone and the phone adapter can be a coaxial connector permanently attached to the phone adapter, which automatically engages the coaxial connector of the mobile phone during assembly. This predetermines the connection and makes assembly very easy.

The contacts for the antenna connection on the standardized electrical connection can have a rigid and a spring-loaded contact. A spring-loaded contact reliably establishes and maintains an electrical connection. A spring-loaded contact is generally considered sufficient, so that the counter-contact can be used as

rigid contact and can therefore be designed in a simplified manner. The spring-loaded contact is preferably provided on the base holder. This has the advantage that the rigid contact can be provided on the telephone adapter. Since this is sometimes carried around and is therefore exposed to a variety of mechanical stresses, a robust rigid contact is advantageous.

Electrical supply lines for the antenna connection can be coaxial in nature or can be coaxial cables. This applies in particular to an electrical supply line within the telephone adapter between the antenna connection of the mobile phone and the standardized electrical connection to the base holder. A coaxial cable for the antenna connection can also extend from the base holder. Only the contact connection between the base holder and the telephone adapter differs from this and has different contacts or contacts that are located next to each other.

The base holder can be connected to another electrical device, in particular a hands-free device for a vehicle.

Such a hands-free device can be installed separately from the base holder in a vehicle or automobile. While the base holder should be installed in a place that is easily accessible, at least for the driver, the hands-free device can be installed in a hidden place in a suitable place.

In a further embodiment of the invention, a circuit with a means of recognizing the individual telephone adapter can be provided in the telephone adapter. Preferably, such electronics are present in a hands-free device. They can be designed to recognize the respective telephone adapter or the respective mobile phone model used in it using such a means of recognition. In this way, it is possible to

Identification of the mobile phone model for the hands-free system should be provided. Its properties can then be automatically adjusted to this mobile phone.

Detailed description of the embodiment

Fig. 1 shows a telephone adapter 11 into which a mobile phone 13 is inserted. The telephone adapter 11 can be designed like a flat shell

or the like. The mobile phone is attached to the telephone adapter 11 by means of a lower projection 15 and a movable upper projection 16 forming a lock. Electrical connection options between the telephone adapter 11 and the mobile phone 13 are available to suit the respective mobile phone. This is usually a contact plug strip or the like with several connections in the area of the lower projection 15 and a coaxial plug connection for an antenna connection of the mobile phone in the upper area. These are well known from the prior art and therefore do not need to be explained in more detail. The design specifications of the respective mobile phones are also decisive here.

As can be seen, the mobile phone 13 can continue to be used normally even when it is inserted into the telephone adapter 11. Both the display 18 and keyboard 19 as well as the loudspeaker device 20 or earpiece are freely accessible. Using holes or recesses 21 in the lower projection 15, normal speaking into the microphone of the mobile phone 13 is also possible. The mobile phone antenna 23 can also be seen, which is also protected in the shell of the telephone adapter 11. Such a telephone adapter can be designed to suit many mobile phone models, and common features can also be provided. However, the connection to the base holder is important.

The structure of the basic holder 25 shown as an example is clear from Fig. 2. It consists of a base plate which can be fastened in a vehicle, for example, using screw holes 26. In the middle it has a wedge-shaped guide 27 which engages in a corresponding guide in the telephone adapter. In the lower area of the guide 27 there is both a spring device 29 to prevent the

inserted mobile phone as well as a locking mechanism 30 with two locking projections 31.

A contact strip 33 is arranged at the lower end of the guide 27. This has a large number of spring-loaded contact pins or tongues 34, which are designed to yield downwards in Fig. 2. This ensures reliable contact with counter contacts that are inserted from above and press against the spring contacts 34. The contact strip 33 is connected to a connecting cable 35 in a manner not shown. This can be done in the usual way. It should be noted that according to the invention two spring contacts 34 form the antenna connection for the mobile phone antenna 23. These two electrical supply lines for the antenna, leading from the contact strip 33, are in turn formed in an axial cable that runs inside the connecting cable 35.

If the supply line from the plug of the telephone adapter 11 for the coaxial antenna connection of the mobile telephone 13 according to Fig. 1 to the contact device of the telephone adapter 11 is also designed as a coaxial supply line, which is possible without difficulty, the spring contacts 34 for the antenna connection lying next to one another represent the only deviation from the coaxial character. However, this causes a barely perceptible and thus easily tolerable impairment of the signal quality.

In Fig. 3, the telephone adapter 11 is shown in detail in a rear view. On the one hand, a wedge-shaped guide 37 can be seen, which fits the guide 27 of the base holder 25.

Furthermore, a contact base 38 protrudes from the underside of the telephone adapter 11. On its lower side, which faces the contact strip 33 when the adapter 11 is inserted into the base holder 25,

Mating contacts 39 are attached. These are rigid in Fig. 3 or are injected into the contact base 38 made of plastic. The spring effect, which is advantageous for reliable contact, is taken over by the spring contacts 34 of the base holder. The mating contacts 39 are connected in a manner not shown to a contact not shown in Fig. 1 between the telephone adapter 11 and the mobile phone 13, also for the coaxial antenna connection. Here too, a coaxial antenna cable can be led within the telephone adapter 11 directly from the mating contacts 39 to a corresponding coaxial plug on the telephone adapter.

To start up a mobile phone 13 on a base holder 25, the mobile phone is first inserted into the telephone adapter 11. The contact device shown in Figure 2 is used to make electrical contact with both the mobile phone antenna 23 and the other functions of the mobile phone. The telephone adapter 11 is provided with a standardized guide 37 and standardized contacts 38, 39 on its back. The telephone adapter is placed with the guide 37 on the corresponding guide 27 of the base holder 25 and secured by means of the lock 30, 31. In the final phase of inserting the telephone adapter, an electrical connection is made between the contacts 39 and 34. The mobile phone 13 is thus completely electrically connected via the connection cable 35 of the base holder 25. The connection cable 35 can, for example, lead to a hands-free device installed in a vehicle.

Claims (7)

1. Holder for a mobile phone ( 13 ) with: - a base holder ( 25 ) with a standardized electrical connection ( 33 ) and - with a telephone adapter ( 11 ) with a suitable standardised electrical connection ( 38 ), wherein the telephone adapter ( 11 ) is designed to be matched to different models of mobile telephones ( 13 ) and wherein the mobile telephones have a coaxial connection as an antenna connection, characterized in that the electrical connection to the antenna connection of the mobile telephone on the standardized electrical connection ( 33 , 38 ) between the base holder ( 25 ) and the telephone adapter ( 11 ) has contacts ( 34 , 39 ) without a coaxial character. 2. Holder according to claim 1, characterized in that the contacts ( 34 , 39 ) lie next to one another without being coaxial. 3. Holder according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the electrical connection between the base holder ( 25 ) and the telephone adapter ( 11 ) for the antenna connection is designed in conjunction with further electrical connections to the mobile telephone ( 13 ) or the telephone adapter ( 11 ), wherein preferably a contact strip ( 33 , 38 ) with several contact options ( 34 , 39 ) lying next to one another is provided. 4. Holder according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the adjacent contacts ( 34 , 39 ) for the antenna connection on the standardized electrical connection have a rigid ( 39 ) and a resilient ( 34 ) contact, wherein preferably the resilient contact ( 34 ) is provided on the base holder ( 25 ). 5. Holder according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that electrical supply lines for the antenna connection to the standardized electrical connection ( 33 , 38 ) between the base holder ( 25 ) and the telephone adapter ( 11 ) have a coaxial character, in particular are coaxial cables. 6. Holder according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the base holder ( 25 ) is connected to a further device, in particular a hands-free device, which can be installed separately in a vehicle. 7. Holder according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a circuit with a possibility of recognizing the individual telephone adapter is provided in the telephone adapter ( 11 ), wherein preferably an electronics is designed in a hands-free system in order to recognize the respective telephone adapter or the respective mobile phone model on the basis of this possibility of recognizing.
