Area-wide information system

The present invention relates to a planar information system with a cover having at least one recess and a displaceable, disc-shaped information carrier arranged on one side of the cover in such a way that information applied to the information carrier can be selected and seen through the recess by displacing the information carrier.

Such a system is known, for example, in the form of so-called parking discs. Such parking discs comprise a flat cover, which is often made of paper or cardboard, but can also be made of plastic or similar. A circular disc is mounted centrally on this cover, which can be rotated around its central bearing point. The cover now has a recess that opens at an angle from the bearing point of the disc, through which a segment of the circular information carrier disc is visible. Numbers from 1 to 24 or from 1 to 12 are applied to the information carrier disc at regular angular intervals, which are intended to correspond to a time. By turning the circular information carrier, certain numbers _/ are placed in the viewing window arranged as a recess in the cover, so that it can be shown at what time a user of a parking space took up this space. Such an information system is designed for organizational purposes.

Since people in the age of communication come into contact with a wealth of information every day, there is a need to present information that is to be communicated to an audience in a particularly concise and eye-catching manner. Often, only a short, specially designed way of presenting information can draw the attention of information-weary people to the content of the information to be communicated.

Based on this, the present invention is based on the object of creating an information system of the type mentioned at the outset, which allows a large number of combinatorially representable information to be transmitted in a conspicuous and concise manner.

To achieve this objective, the invention proposes that the information carrier system of the type mentioned at the outset further comprises a further, displaceable, disc-shaped information carrier arranged on the same side of the cover, wherein information located thereon is selectably visible through a second recess in the cover by displacing the further information carrier in order to combinatorially supplement the information applied to the first information carrier and visible through the first recess to form a total information.

With the information system according to the invention, it is now possible to combine different information consisting of two information components that are visible through the recesses by moving the information carriers containing a large number of pieces of information. For example, the first part of the overall information applied to one information carrier can contain a word that determines an action, for example search, offer, rent, sell, etc., and the second part applied to the other information carrier can contain an object, such as a new car, a nice partner, a spacious apartment, a cuddly pet, and the like. This therefore provides an information system through which a large number of combined pieces of information can be achieved by combining two short and concise pieces of information. With appropriate creative design, color design, shape

etc., this information system can also be used to draw the attention of people who, due to an oversupply of information, can no longer be easily persuaded to absorb information, to this short and concise, but content-rich information.

It is also possible to add information to the cover, which supplements the information visible through the cover and arranged on the information carriers to form a complete information package.

In an advantageous embodiment, the disc-shaped information carriers are circular or circular segment-shaped and are arranged on the cover so that they can rotate around the respective circle center. In this way, the desired information can be selected from the large number of pieces of information applied to the circular or circular segment-shaped information carriers by simply rotating the circular information carrier disc. A further advantageous embodiment is obtained if one of the disc-shaped information carriers is designed as a full circle and the other disc-shaped information carrier is designed essentially as a semicircle and if the two information carriers are arranged one behind the other on a common axis of rotation concentrically on the cover, with the semicircular information carrier adjacent to the cover. In this way, the information applied to the respective information carrier can be made visible through a recess in the cover in a space-saving manner. The semicircular design of the other information carrier, in conjunction with the fact that it is adjacent to the cover, ensures that the information applied to one information carrier is not covered by the other information carrier. The fact that less information can be placed on the semicircular information carrier than on the information carrier designed in the form of a full circle suggests that the type of information of which only a small number are needed to combine an overall information, for example an action such as search, offer, buy, rent and the like, should be placed on the semicircular information carrier.

It is also advantageous if, in the arrangement of the two information carriers described here, the two recesses provided in the cover extend from the axis of rotation opposite one another, opening at an angle. In this way, on both sides of the center of rotation of the two disc-shaped information carriers, circular segment-shaped sections of these, which are provided with information, can be made visible through the recesses. In addition, the information can be arranged in lines in the usual way, so that it can be easily read in the usual way by a recipient of the information.

Greater design freedom is achieved if, in addition to the two information carriers mentioned above, the information carrier system has a third, movable, disc-like information carrier arranged on the same side of the cover in such a way that, by moving the information carrier, information applied to it can be selectively seen through at least one further recess, with all visible information being added together to form a total information. Further information such as telephone numbers, addresses, names, other objects or the like can now be made visible to an information recipient in addition to the information applied to one or the other information carrier.

In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the third disc-shaped information carrier is also circular and is arranged on the housing so that it can rotate at its center. This also results in the advantages already described in connection with the first information carriers for this information carrier, namely that by simply rotating the information carrier, a portion of information from a large number of pieces of information can be made visible.

According to a further advantageous embodiment, the third information carrier is arranged next to the first two concentrically mounted information carriers, and the cover has two recesses extending at an angle from the axis of rotation of the third information carrier. Thus, this information carrier can also contain information about the

On the first-mentioned information carriers, information is applied to circular segment-shaped sections and made visible through the two recesses by rotating the information carrier.

It is particularly advantageous if the four angular recesses are designed symmetrically to a common axis of symmetry that runs through the centers of the circular or circular segment-shaped information carriers. In this design, all information components made visible by the recesses are arranged in rows, so that it is easier for an information recipient to perceive them in the usual way, for example to read them.

According to a further advantageous proposal of the invention, the information carrier system has a second cover opposite the first cover and enclosing the information carriers. This can serve, for example, to stabilize the information system, but also offers additional protection for the information carriers.

In a particularly simple embodiment of the invention, the recesses are simultaneously points of attack for moving the information carriers. This means that it is not necessary to provide additional points at which a user can grab the information carriers and move them.

The information carrier system according to the invention is particularly flexible if it comprises a large number of information carriers which are arranged detachably on the cover for mutual exchange. A user of the information system according to the invention can thus store a large number of information carriers with a wide variety of information and arrange them on the information carrier according to the desired information, in order to then make the desired information visible to the outside through the recesses in the cover by moving the information carrier. The individual information carriers can be arranged according to subject areas, for example. Such subject areas can be, for example, profession, requests for male users, requests for female users, leisure-related topics and the like. A user can thus

Users of the information system according to the invention can put together a system for the flexible transmission of topic-related information depending on the desired topic.

It is also advantageous if an information carrier system according to the invention has fastening means arranged on the cover. Suction cups are particularly advantageous for this purpose, which can then be arranged, for example, from the inside on a car window pane so that the information system according to the invention is visible from the outside. It is also advantageous if the respective information is visible to the user of the information system on the back of the information system in accordance with the position on the front. This allows the user to put together the desired information without having to look at the front of the information system.

The remaining area of the front cover can be printed for advertising purposes, for example.

Fig. 1 shows an information system 1 according to the invention, which is shown in a plan view in Fig. 2, in Fig. 2a in a view from the left and in Fig. 2b in a plan view from above. A cover 2 has recesses 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, which open outwards at an angle in pairs starting from a point P1 or P2. The recesses 2a and 2b form a first pair around the point P1 and the recesses 2c and 2d form a second pair around the point P2. The recesses 2b and 2c are connected to one another to form a continuous recess. Openings 2f are provided at the points P1 and P2, as can be seen in the illustration of the cover in Fig. 3. Further openings 2e can be seen at the four corners of the essentially rectangular cover. These openings 2e serve to accommodate suction cups 3, which serve as fastening means and are arranged on one side of the cover 2. On the side of the cover 2 opposite the suction cups 3, a total of three disc-shaped information carriers 4, 5 and 6 can be seen. The two disc-shaped information carriers 5

and 6 are fully circular and the disk-shaped information carrier 4 is essentially semicircular. The two information carriers 4 and 5 are mounted concentrically on the left in the drawing so as to be able to rotate around a common center point at point P1. They are mounted using a detachable connection which is shown in more detail in Fig. 2c. In this figure it can be seen that the connection is created using push buttons 7a and 7b, the middle section 7c of which serves as a common axis of rotation DA1 for the two information carriers 4, 5. Spacer disks 8 are arranged between the individual elements, i.e. between the cover 2 and the first information carrier 4 and between the first information carrier 4 and the second information carrier 5. The two information carriers 4 and 5 are arranged in such a way that segments of these information carriers protrude visibly behind the cover 2 through the recesses 2a and 2b respectively. The arrangement of the third information carrier 6 is shown on the right in Fig. 2, which, like the information carrier 5, is connected to the cover 2 at its circle center at point P2 via an opening 2f. The design of the connection is shown in Fig. 2d. Here too, push buttons 7a, 7b are used for detachably attaching the information carrier 6, which at the same time provide the axis of rotation DA2 for the third information carrier 6 in a central section 7c. Here too, a spacer disk 8 is arranged between the cover 2 and the information carrier 6. Another spacer disk 9 with greater thickness is arranged between the information carrier 6 and the push button 7b.

Information disks 10 and 11 are shown in Figs. 4 and 5a and 5b. Information disk 10 has the shape of a full circle, whereas information disk 11 is essentially semicircular. The two information disks 10 and 11 each have an opening 10b or 11b in the center of the circle. The area around the opening 11b of information disk 11 is in the shape of a full circle with a smaller diameter than the diameter of the semicircle. Information disks 10 and 11 have individual segments 10a and 11a, which, as shown in the case of information disk 11, can carry information in the form of labels. Fig. 5b shows that the segments 11a shown in Fig. 5a are also labeled on the back.

Figs. 6a and 6b also show a selection of fully circular information disks 10, whereby the information disks each have 8 segments into which different labels are inserted depending on the topic. The individual segments can, for example, be designed with different colored backgrounds and different font colors. It is also conceivable, as in the case of the topic area "Career 2", to leave segments unlabeled so that a user of the information system according to the invention can make labels themselves as required. The selection of information disks shown in Figs. 6a and 6b is to be understood as examples only and is in no way to be seen as limiting.

In the information system shown in Fig. 2, an essentially semicircular information disk 11 shown in Figs. 5a and 5b is used for the information carrier 4 shown on the left in the figure, and an information disk 10 shown in Fig. 4, which has the shape of a full circle, is used as the information carrier 5. The cover 2, the information disk 11 and the information disk 10 are detachably connected to one another via the respective openings 2f, 11b and 10b via the push buttons 7a and 7b. By rotating the individual information disks, the information shown on the segments 10a and 11a can now be made visible through the recesses 2a and 2b in the cover, which have essentially the same shape as the segments 10a and 11a. The fact that the semicircular information disk 11 is arranged adjacent to the cover 2 and the fully circular information disk 10 behind it allows segments 11a belonging to the semicircular information disk 11 to be shown in the recess 2a shown on the left in the figure and segments 10a belonging to the information disk 10 formed in the form of a full circle to be shown in the recess 2b shown on the right in the figure. Thus, just by combining these two information disks, with the semicircular information disk 11 having four segments 11a and the fully circular information disk 10 having eight segments 10a, it is possible to display 8x4, i.e. 32 different possible combined information. By exchanging the respective information disks 10 or 11 and replacing them with

Information discs with other information can significantly increase the amount of information that can be displayed.

As can be seen in Fig. 2, the radius of the semicircular information disk 11 is selected to be larger than the radius of the fully circular information disk 10. It is therefore now possible to label the rear side of the semicircular information disk 10 on the outer edge of the segments with the information applied to the front part of the segments, as in Fig. 5b. This information is then not covered by the information disk 10 arranged behind the semicircular information disk 11 and can therefore be viewed by a user from the rear of the information system 1 according to the invention. If the rear side of the respective segments 10a of the fully circular information disk 10 is now also provided with the information shown on the front, the user can set the information from the rear of the information system 1 without having to look at the front of the cover 2. This is particularly advantageous if the information system 1 according to the invention is attached to the inside of a car window via the fastening means, for example the suction cups 3, so that the front of the information system is not easily visible when selecting the information combination.

As shown on the right in Fig. 2, a further fully circular information disk 10 is arranged as the third information carrier 6 in the manner described above. Here too, as shown in Fig. 2d, a connection is provided via a detachable push-button combination 7a, 7b, so that here too the information disk 10 can be exchanged for another information disk 10 with other information contained therein if necessary. Here too, the push-buttons provide the axis of rotation DA2 for the circular information disk 10 in a central section 7c. This central section 7c extends through an opening 2f in the cover 2, a spacer disk 8, the information carrier 6 and another spacer disk 9. The spacer disk 9 is designed with a greater thickness, so that, as can easily be seen, this spacer disk can be exchanged in order to also cover the area shown on the right in Fig. 2 with a spacer disk consisting of two information disks.

Even with just one information disk as the third information carrier 6, as this offers a further four setting options, there are already a total of 32x4, i.e. 128 different possibilities for selecting an information combination. By including another semicircular information disk 11 in the area shown on the right in Fig. 2, in the manner already described above, there are even a possible combination of 32x32, i.e. 1,024 different information combinations. And even this already very high number of different information combinations can be considerably increased by providing exchangeable information disks with further information printed on in segments.

The information discs can be rotated by grabbing the discs through the recesses 2a, 2d. This means that no further points of attack are required.

In the event that individual information, such as telephone numbers, addresses, purchase prices or the like, is to be displayed on an information carrier, such a carrier can be equipped with blank segments which can be independently labeled by the user of an information system according to the invention.

Finally, as shown in Fig. 1, the front of the cover 2 can be provided with advertising prints.

Paper, cardboard, plastic, metal or the like can be used as the material for the cover 2 and the information carriers 4, 5, 6. It is also conceivable to manufacture the individual elements from different materials.

The invention creates an information system that can transmit a large number of information items that are compiled in a combinatorial manner and that presents them in a short, concise and eye-catching manner. The eye-catching nature of such an information system for recipients of the information contained therein can be further increased by further design options such as color, pattern, etc. Such an information system is suitable

especially for mounting behind transparent objects such as car windows, apartment windows or the like.

The embodiment shown here should not be understood as limiting the scope of protection in any way, but merely as illustrative of it.

Claims (15)

1. A planar information system (1) with a cover (2) having at least one recess (2a) and a displaceable, disk-shaped information carrier (4) arranged on one side of the cover (2) in such a way that information applied to the information carrier (4) is selectably visible through the recess (2a) by displacing the information carrier (4), characterized by a further displaceable, disk-shaped information carrier (5) arranged on the same side of the cover (2), information located thereon for combinatorial supplementation of information applied to the first information carrier (4) and visible through the first recess (2a) to form an overall information item is selectably visible through a second recess (2b) in the cover (2) by displacing the further information carrier (5). 2. Information system according to claim 1, characterized in that further information is applied to the cover (2), which supplements the information visible through the recesses (2a, 2b) on the first information carrier (4) and the information applied to the second information carrier (5) to form a total information. 3. Information system according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the disc-shaped information carriers (4, 5) are circular or circular segment-shaped and are arranged on the cover (2) so as to be rotatable about the respective circle center (P1). 4. Information system according to claim 3, characterized in that one of the disc-shaped information carriers (5) is designed as a full circle and the other disc-shaped information carrier (4) is designed essentially as a semicircle and that the two information carriers (4, 5) are arranged one behind the other on a common axis of rotation (DA1) concentrically on the cover (2), the semicircular information carrier (4) being adjacent to the cover (2). 5. Information system according to claim 4, characterized in that the two recesses (2a, 2b) extend from the axis of rotation (DA1) opposite one another and open at an angle. 6. Information system according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized by a third, displaceable, disc-like information carrier (6) arranged on the same side of the cover (2) in such a way that by displacing the third information carrier (6), information selectively applied thereto is visible through at least one further recess (2c, 2d), whereby all visible information supplements one another to form an overall information. 7. Information system according to claim 6, characterized in that the third disc-shaped information carrier (6) is circular and is arranged rotatably mounted on the housing at its center point (P2). 8. Information system according to claim 7, characterized in that the third information carrier (6) is arranged next to the first two concentrically mounted information carriers (4, 5), and that two recesses (2c, 2d) in the cover (2) extend opposite one another and open at an angle, starting from the axis of rotation (DA2) of the third information carrier (6). 9. Information system according to claim 8, characterized in that the four angular recesses (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d) are formed symmetrically to a common axis of symmetry (SA) running through the centers (P1, P2) of the circular or circular segment-shaped information carriers (4, 5, 6). 10. Information system according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized by a second cover opposite the first cover (2) and enclosing the information carriers (4, 5, 6). 11. Information system according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that the recesses (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d) are simultaneously points of attack for moving the information carriers (4, 5, 6). 12. Information system according to one of claims 1 to 11, characterized in that it comprises a plurality of information carriers (4, 5, 6) which are detachably arranged on the cover (2) for mutual exchange. 13. Information system according to one of claims 1 to 12, characterized by fastening means (3) arranged on the cover (2). 14. Information system according to claim 13, characterized by suction cups (3) as fastening means. 15. Information system according to one of claims 1 to 14, characterized in that the cover (2) is printed on its front side for advertising purposes.
