Es gibt in der Filtertechnik und in der Trink- und Brauchwasser aufbereitung Anwendungsfälle bei denen wäßrige Feststoffgemische getrennt, oder eine Feststoff suspension von Verunreinigungen gereinigt werden muß. Eine besonders häufig vorkommende Zweckbestimmung ist das Reinigen von Filtermaterial, wie Sand und Kies, aber auch Kunststoff granulat. In der Abwassertechnik sind Rechengutströme von der anhaftenden Organic, oder Schlachthofabfälle von den Feinsanden zu trennen. Während der Weiterförderung wird das Trenngut intensiv umgewälzt, die abzutrennende Feinfraktion wird abgerieben und durch das Spülwasser durch die Sieböffnungen ausgetragen. Die das Spülwasser aufbringenden Sprühdüsen können einen scharfen Strahl liefern, um das Abspülen der Feinfraktiven zu unterstützen. Das aus dem Gehäuse herausragende offene Ende der Trommel ist mit einem konischen Kragen (17) versehen, der das gewaschene Schüttgut in einen Auffangbehälter zur Rückführung in den Filter, oder zur Weiterbehandlung, ableitet. Die Einspeisevorrichtung ragt geneigt in die Trommel, und ist in Dreiviertel ihrer Länge als oben offene Rinne (20) ausgebildet. Der Zulaufanschluß (21) enthält einen Absperrschieber (22). Unter der Rinne ist die mit den Sprühdüsen (23) ausgerüstete Waschleitung (24) verlegt. Rinne, Absperrschieber und Waschlei tung sind an einer Traverse (25) befestigt, die leicht abnehmbar an Seitenkonsolen (26) ver schraubt ist. Über dem Scheitel der Trommel verläuft achsparallel noch die Rücksprühdüsenlei tung (27), die mit Brauchwasser gespeist wird. Der Rückspülschlamm verläßt die Siebtrommel durch ihre Unterseite und wird genau wie die im Waschbetrieb anfallenden Siebdurchgänge abge führt.
