Description
Age-hardenable alloy The invention relates to an age-hardenable alloy, there an alloy in which the alloy components are separated during the melting process dissolve into one another and maintain this solution even after the alloy has been quenched remains, in which, however, by a starting process with temperatures of about 400o hardening of the alloy occurs. This starting process separates at least a second phase from the alloy, which determines the hardness of the alloy .. acquaintances Alloys of this type are, for example, copper-based alloys, e.g. OuBe, CuCoBe, CuCr, CuNiSi. According to the invention, a new hardenable alloy is available win by using a tin or phosphor bronze, beryllium or cobalt or titanium or chromium or several of these elements simultaneously in such an amount What is added is that their solubility in the copper-tin mixed crystal is that of the usual The tempering temperature exceeds the given temperature by about 400 ° C. Such an age-hardenable alloy on the base of the tin bronze has opposite the well-known in addition to the large hardness the advantage of high chemical corrosion resistance, high yield strength, high fatigue strength and good weldability. One can uoao with advantage from such alloys Manufacture wires for endless metal cloths for paper machines. Eix an alloy According to the invention, it is easy to process in the quenched state Advantageously, the processing of the oiling or wires etc. made from it. make in the quenched state and hardening after processing, for example after the production of said metal cloths.
