Die Fettsäureester selbst sind zwar nicht ausreichend wasserlöslich, können aber durch Lösungsvermittler, beispielsweise Propylenglykol oder Äthylenoxidderivate, wie sie unter anderem unter der Bezeichnung Spans und Tweens bekannt wurden, in Lösung bzw. Pseudolösung gebracht werden, die gut schäumen und reinigen. Reinigungsmittel zur intimen Pflege: 5 bis 100/o Ascorbyllaurat oder Myristat bzw. die entsprechenden Ester der Isoascorbinsäure, 20/0 Antiseptika, 600/0 Propylenglykol oder ein sonstiges Lösungsmittel, 50/0 Lösungsvermittler (beispielsweise Tween 20), 28 bis 23 0/o Wasser.
