The invention relates to a food packaging having the features of the preamble of claim 1 and a food packaged in such a packaging.

The food packaging should meet a large number of requirements: It should be easy to assemble, although a large number of different products may be offered in a branch. At the same time, they should be simple, environmentally friendly and inexpensive to manufacture and, from the point of view of environmental protection, produce little packaging waste, in particular little plastic waste, and also preferably permit material separation. The object of the invention is therefore to provide food packaging that is simple and inexpensive to manufacture and at the same time can be used flexibly.

This object is achieved by a food packaging having the features of patent claim 1. Advantageous further developments of the invention are the subject matter of the dependent claims.

The food packaging according to the invention has a pocket which is formed from or on a sheet with a first area and a second area opposite the first area. The latter can in particular contribute to the fact that, with appropriately adapted folding, a food packaging can be used for different foods in such a way that the sections of the food packaging that can be recognized from the outside are characteristic of the corresponding food. For example, a vegan burger could be identified by a grass-green visible outside of the food packaging and a beef burger by a blood-red visible outside of the food packaging, depending on how the packaging is handled when packing the burger.

According to an advantageous development of the invention it is provided that the receiving compartment in the first area is formed in that the first area is shaped into the receiving compartment with an opening for the food.
