Abstract
Description
The present patent application relates to an acetabular insertion tool for the use of Acetabular inlays and acetabular cups with or without an integrated articular surface.
The known versions of the prior art, which are based on a vacuum, the by extracting air by manual actuation of the setting tool or by using of motor-assisted pumps, demonstrate clinical applicability different problem areas.
Intraoperative, manual placement of acetabular inlays or acetabular cups without The use of a setting aid is for anatomical or spatial reasons problematic because the acetabulum lies at great depth and therefore for the surgeon is difficult to access manually. This results in a difficult positioning of Acetabular inlays or acetabular cups because these implants are usually not included Adaptation devices are equipped for coupling appropriate instruments and also cannot contain adaption devices for technical reasons.
- 1. Design of the setting tool with regard to the combination with all hip socket inlays on the market.
- 2. Realization of an acetabular insertion tool without external, technical energy supply.
- 3. Design of the setting tool with regard to the clinical requirements for cleaning and sterilization.
The function of the invention of an acetabular insert setting device ( 1 ) for the intraoperative positioning of acetabular inlays, acetabular cups or comparable implants is based on a vacuum generated during positioning between the suction cup ( 2 ) and the articular surface ( 15 ) in the acetabular insert ( 14 ). or the acetabular cup ( 14 ). The negative pressure is by pressing out the air in the cavity, shown in Fig. 3 and 6, between the bottom of the Hüftpfanneninlay (14) and the acetabulum (14) attached suction cup (2) and the Hüftpfannengelenkfläche (15 ) is generated when the setting tool ( 1 ) is pressed in.
The design of the acetabular insertion tool ( 1 ) is based on the special requirements of the various implants such as PE acetabular inlays ( 14 ), ceramic acetabular inlays ( 14 ), cementable PE acetabular cup, etc. For this reason, there are different variants ( Fig. 1 to FIG been designed. 10) based on the pre Pictured operating principle, to support the specific requirements for the different implantation techniques of the various implants. The differences between the implants result mainly from the type of implantation, which can mainly be described as cementing in PE acetabular cups ( 14 ) and inserting acetabular inlays ( 14 ) for conical adaptation in a previously implanted metal back etc.
The setting tool ( 1 ) consists of the suction cup ( 2 ) with a holding rod ( 5 ), which in the preferred embodiment contains an integrated pressure relief valve ( 9 ) or, in a further preferred variant, can only be combined with a simple holding rod ( 5 ). To maintain the negative pressure, the setting tool ( 1 ) can be equipped with or without a pressure relief valve ( 9 ).
The suction cup ( 2 ), consisting of an elastic material, is preferably connected to the holding rod ( 5 ) by a simple plug-in connection, which is realized by a suction cup bore for adapting the holding rod ( 4 ) and a suction cup receptacle on the holding rod ( 6 ). To realize the pressure relief, the suction cup ( 2 ) preferably has a continuous bore, which is represented by the suction cup bore for adapting the handrail ( 4 ) and the subsequent pressure relief bore ( 3 ).
The pressure relief valve ( 9 ) consists of a conical or right-angled sealing surface ( 10 ) and preferably an O-ring ( 11 ) or a comparable sealing element, which is combined with the pressure relief rod ( 7 ). The pressure relief valve ( 9 ) according to the type in Fig. 3-6 can be closed by continuous manual pressure on the pressure relief rod ( 7 ) or according to the type in Fig. 7-10 by a permanent spring load, preferably a compression spring ( 12 ) , To relieve pressure after the implant has been positioned in the body, the holding rod ( 5 ) can be removed from the suction cup ( 2 ) by pulling it out to withdraw the setting device ( 1 ), the manual pressure on the pressure relief rod ( 5 ), in accordance with the design in Fig. 3- 6, be withdrawn or the pressure relief valve ( 9 ), according to the design in Fig. 7-10, operated via the pressure relief knob ( 13 ). The design according to the variant shown in Fig. 7-10 also has a suction cup ejector ( 8 ) for separating the suction cup ( 2 ) from the support rod ( 5 ) to allow an immediate withdrawal of the setting tool ( 1 ), which in the case of implantation of cemented PE acetabular (14) is requested by the user, to prevent a movement of the PE-acetabular cup (14) by the weight of the setting tool (1) in the hardening bone cement, since these movements can adversely affect the fixation.
