Abstract

Both of the protective gloves (12, 14) in the packaging unit are attached on one side (20) of the backing sheet (16) and/or on one opposite side (2) of the backing sheet. The gloves are arranged so that the contours of both gloves at least partially overlap. Foil layers, which form the respective upper and lower sides of the glove, and the backing sheet are laid one upon the other in such a way that the backing sheet forms one of the outer layers or the centre layer, and the foil layers are connected through formation of the glove.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Packaging gloves for protective gloves are known in which the protective gloves are mounted side by side on a carrier sheet, for example of paper. Instructions on the use of protective gloves, for example for use in the treatment of persons suspected of AIDS, may be printed on this carrier sheet. To protect these sensitive protective gloves, which consist of thin plastic foils, from damage, it is necessary to fasten the gloves to the surface of the carrier sheet. As a result, a large carrier sheet is required to fasten the two protective gloves side by side, the size of which corresponds at least to the contour of the adjacent protective gloves. This generally requires a DIN A3 size carrier sheet. As a result, a large amount of paper is required for the packaging units of the two protective gloves arranged on the carrier sheet.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the invention to provide a packaging unit with two protective gloves, in particular for protection against AIDS, arranged on a carrier sheet, in which the consumption of material for the carrier sheet can be reduced.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This object is solved by a packaging unit of the aforementioned kind according to the preamble of the main claim with the features of its characterizing part. The dependent claims disclose advantageous embodiments of the invention and a process for manufacturing this packaging unit.

The present invention offers two possibilities to reduce the consumption of material on a carrier sheet, which may be, for example, of paper. On the one hand, both protective gloves can be arranged and fastened on opposite sides of the carrier sheet. A second possibility is that the two protective gloves are arranged and fastened on the same side of the carrier sheet, in both cases at least partially overlapping the contour lines of the protective gloves, and with increasing overlap the space required for fastening the protective gloves is reduced. Therefore, it is advantageous if the contour lines of the two protective gloves overlap in substantial parts of the entire contour, preferably when they completely or almost completely overlap.

In the case of protective gloves arranged on opposite sides of the carrier sheet, the protective gloves are preferably of equal size, i.e. the contour lines of the two protective gloves arranged on both sides of the carrier sheet are identical. In the case of the second possible embodiment, that is to say attaching the two protective gloves to the same side of the carrier sheet, it is advantageous if the contour line of the protective glove is somewhat larger from the carrier sheet than the protective gloves adjacent to the carrier sheet. In this way, when making a protective glove by means of a heat-sealed seam, the protective glove adjacent to the backing sheet can first be glued from two layers of foil, and the second protective glove is glued in the same manner over the first protective glove. By having the protective glove that is further away from the carrier sheet, a slightly larger contour line, the glove can be heat sealed without the glove sticking with the protective glove underneath.

However, a non-stick coating may also be applied to the lower glove, and a second protective glove may be applied and bonded. In this case, the contour lines of the two protective gloves lying on top of each other can also be identical.

The connection of the protective gloves can be carried out by known methods, for example by gluing, or by heat sealing.

The protective glove 12 is formed of a transparent polyethylene film as well as a second protective glove 14 which lies thereon and is thus further away from the carrier sheet 16. This second protective glove 14, which is also made of transparent polyethylene film, has a slightly larger contour than the first protective glove 12 which lies beneath it and thus adheres to the carrier sheet 16.

The structure of the layers is apparent from FIG. 2. The carrier sheet 16 carries first both layers of the foil of one protective glove 12, and despite this, the other two foils of the protective glove 14 are seen with a slightly larger outline.

Fig. 3 shows an arrangement where the two protective gloves 12, 14 lie on opposite sides 20 and 22 of the carrier sheet 16.

Packaging units can be produced as follows:

First, the layers of foil, i.e. two layers for each protective glove 12, 14, are arranged either on one side of the carrier sheet as shown in Fig. 2 or on opposite sides of the carrier sheet as shown in Fig. 3. the edges of the film layers, to the edge adjacent to the wrist, are joined to each other, for example by hot-sticking. In the case of hot-sealing, a non-rigid, releasable connection of the two protective gloves 12, 14 to the carrier sheet 16 is simultaneously formed.
