Abstract
Se describen materiales compuestos delgados, biocompatibles, de alta resistencia que son adecuados para usarse en una válvula protésica para regular la dirección del flujo sanguíneo. En un aspecto, el material de valva mantiene flexibilidad en aplicaciones de flexión de ciclo alto, haciéndolo particularmente aplicable a implantes de alta flexión tal como una valva de válvula protésica de corazón. El material de valva incluye una capa coherente y un elastómero, en donde el elastómero está presente en los poros de la capa coherente porosa.
