技术领域
本发明涉及数字传输。更确切地，其涉及一种用于从传输系统中接收节目的接收器，该接收器包括这样的电子节目指南装置，它用于浏览其包含多个节目频道上的信息的电子节目指南。
本发明还涉及一种包括输入和输出装置的远程装置，用于经由接收器而访问这样的电子节目指南，其包含从传输系统中传送的多个节目频道上的信息，以及涉及一种家庭娱乐系统，其包括一个这种用于从传输系统中接收节目的接收器和多个下述的远程装置，即该远程装置中包含用于查看电子节目指南的显示装置。
本发明还涉及一种远程浏览电子节目指南的多用户方法、一种用于执行这种方法的计算机程序产品、以及一种用于承载这种计算机程序的信号。
本发明应用于多媒体传输系统。尤其是应用于例如是DSS(数字卫星系统)系统、DVB(数字视频广播)系统和Internet协议(IP)网络数字电视系统这样的数字电视系统和家庭娱乐系统。
背景技术
电子节目指南(EPG)或交互节目指南(IPG)是具备可在电视机屏幕上呈现的节目指南信息的应用程序，所述应用程序通常运行于电视机屏幕或机顶盒上。这种方法带来的一个问题就是指南数据必须替换或覆盖用户正在收看的节目，因而会干扰正常的节目收看。当一群人在看电视而他们中仅有一个人(通常是拿着遥控器的人)想要访问节目指南时，尤其成问题。
目前已经提出了各种用于在电视屏幕上显示节目指南的系统和装置。美国专利US6130726A1中指出了一种具有图形显示装置的遥控器，该图形显示装置用于描述节目时间表和/或广告信息，而不会引起由相关电视监视器所描述的内容的中断。
虽然允许不被显示节目指南所干扰而收看电视，但是这种系统也不允许多个用户彼此不互相干扰的访问节目指南。
发明目的和概述
本发明的一个目的是提供一种系统，其通过允许多个用户在不同的显示支持上并发地查看节目指南，从而产生更高质量的服务。
为了这种目的，本发明提出：
-一种用于从传输系统中接收节目的接收器，所述接收器包括这样的电子节目指南装置，其用于浏览包括多个节目频道上信息的电子节目指南，
-一种包括用户输入和输出装置的远程装置，用于经由这种接收器查看所述电子节目指南，以及
-一种包括这种接收器和多个这种远程装置的家庭娱乐系统，
其中所述电子节目指南装置包括一个服务器模块和至少一个指定到每个远程装置的客户机模块，以便根据任一个远程装置的请求，由服务器模块管理对电子节目指南信息中所指定客户机模块的导航。
EPG的结构分为两个不同的部分：具有并发多用户支持程序的服务器模块和用于一个或几个特定类型远程装置的一个或几个客户机模块。这有利于允许几个用户(可能是远距高用户)并发地浏览其数据来自于接收器(例如机顶盒)的EPG，以及允许用远程装置显示结果。

附图的详细说明
在数字电视中(TV)，用户通过称作是电子节目指南(EPG)的专用软件而浏览可用节目列表。该软件运行于称作是机顶盒(STB)的接收器上。其通过遥控器获取用户输入，且在电视机上输出其显示。同一时刻仅有一个用户能够浏览EPG。此外，在浏览该EPG时，用户会覆盖电视机屏幕上的当前显示(On Screen Display)(OSD)，并且会干扰到同时位于电视机前的其它人的视频收看过程。
图1显示了一个根据本发明的家庭娱乐系统的实施例，允许几个用户(假定是远距离用户)并发地浏览其数据来自于一个接收器的EPG。
它包括接收器11，比如是STB，用于从例如是数字TV广播系统这样的传输系统中接收节目，第一远程装置，例如是用于在电视屏幕上浏览EPG的STB红外线遥控器12，以及多个其它远程装置，其能够通过有线或无线装置建立双向传输以与接收器交换数据，所述其它远程装置例如但不限于是用Internet协议(IP)经由蓝牙连接到接收器的个人数字助理(PDA)13，或是用蓝牙、红外线或移动电话协议(GSM、GPRS或UMTS等)链接到接收器的无线应用协议(WAP)移动电话14，以及用网络访问接收器的计算机15。
所述接收器包括用于浏览EPG的电子节目指南装置，该EPG包含电视节目频道上的信息。除遥控器以外的所有远程装置都具备显示装置，并且利用双向通信装置(例如有线或无线蓝牙+Internet协议+特定的客户机程序)与机顶盒链接，以便将EPG的信息显示在远程装置上。遥控器12仍然如平常一样用于在电视屏幕上的EPG信息中进行导航。然而，与此同时，其他用户可以访问EPG信息并且将其显示在他们的远程装置上，而不会被遥控器的用户干扰，也不会彼此干扰。根据包括遥控器及所有其他与接收器之间具有双向链路的远程装置在内的任一个远程装置的请求，电子节目指南装置管理对电子节目指南信息内的每个远程装置的导航，并且如果请求来自于遥控器则在电视屏幕上显示所选择的信息，或者如果请求来自于任一其他远程装置则将所选信息发送到该远程装置，以便后者可以将其显示在自己的屏幕上。
本发明也可以用在连接于另一个特性限定STB的多STB家用网络中，该家用网络的典型设置是具备通过几种媒介(例如公用数字电视信号和/或Intetnet协议(IP)网)来接收EPG信息的网关特性的主STB。运行服务器模块的网关STB采集EPG数据并以一种适当的格式将其发送给运行一个客户模块的特性限定STB。由于大部分数据处理都是在主STB中完成的，这允许使用功能较弱的附加STB，从而更便宜且功能较多。
图2示出了图1所示的机顶盒的软件体系结构。它由以下部分构成，即，顶层，其包括被标记为EPG SOFT的软件栈，以及底层，其包括被标记为TV MIDDLE的中间件。所述软件栈EPG SOFT包括EPG程序。所述中间件TV MIDDLE包括需要使用数字电视以及需要允许在一侧的硬件及信号与另一侧的软件之间进行访问的所有软件成份。该中间件实现了信道(电缆、卫星等等)和/或外部设备(遥控器、PDA、internet平台等等)中所接收的信号与EPG软件之间的一个接口。
对从远程装置中并发浏览EPG问题的解决办法就存在于EPG体系结构中，该体系结构由两个不同部分组成：
-服务器模块，其标记为EPG SERV，具有并发多用户支持程序；
-至少一个客户机模块，EPG CLIENT#k，k是客户机模块的索引。
客户机模块可以运行在STB上和/或远程装置上。
服务器和客户机经由预定的(如专有的)EPG通信应用程序接口(API)而通信，如有向箭头的反向所示。
下面描述了一种经由接收器而从远程装置中远程浏览电子节目指南的方法。在STB的软件栈上，服务器模块向数字电视中间件请求EPG信息，所述数字电视中间件在找到该信息时将其发回服务器模块。所述EPG服务器模块等待任一客户机的连接。
-当用户想从远程装置中浏览EPG时，则载入客户机模块，其用服务器模块初始化通信。
-然后，服务器模块创建一个导航状态机，其负责管理EPG信息内的客户机模块导航。
-用户每次输入时(比如象按下“下一页”键以在所显示的服务列表中向下导航)，客户机模块经由EPG通信API向服务器模块发送这个命令。
-然后，服务器模块更新该客户机模块的相应导航状态机并向数字电视中间件请求EPG信息，所述数字电视中间件在发现所述信息时将其发回。
-然后，服务器模块格式化EPG信息以便远程装置可以对其处理，以及将该信息发回客户机模块，客户机模块在其专用屏幕上显示该信息或将该信息发送给远程装置上的适当软件。
由于服务器模块能够同时管理几个导航状态机，几个客户机模块也可以同时被载入和激活。
一个客户机模块可能是一个本地机，即其运行在STB上，并且其专用于遥控器以获取遥控输入及在电视机(这是数字接收器上的EPG的通用作法)上显示结果(服务和事件列表)。如果STB仅插接在一台电视机上，那么载入几个本地客户机模块是无意义的。这个体系结构中最引人关注的应用是开发专门的客户机模块，称作“代理”，它的任务是将EPG信息内容转换为专用于远程装置的适当格式。例如，与具有WAP设备的移动电话通信需要客户机模块能够将从STB中传送来的EPG信息格式化为WML(无线标记语言)格式，并且能够处理由移动电话所发送的WTP请求。其同样应用于远程装置是一台具有网络访问功能的计算机的情况中，所述网络访问例如是Internet协议(IP)访问，除非客户机模块必须将信息转换为广泛使用的HTML(超级文本标记语言)、XML(扩展标记语言)或任一种标记语言格式，但不局限于只是这几种语言。
本发明具有以下所述的几种优点。从中间件中提取数据(其相当复杂)的软件模块EPG SOFT需要仅被写一次并且无论与何种类型的客户机模块连接均可再使用。由于只有需要将EPG数据转换到专用设备的软件部分不得不被重写，而不是整个EPG，这导致了更容易更快速地为不同种类的设备开发EPG SOFT。
共享高速缓存机制可以在服务器模块中被有利地实施以管理EPG信息，以便性能的改善会使所连接的所有客户机模块即所有用户获益。
假如要开发一个翻译和传送EPG信息的相应的客户机模块，那么本发明会允许任何装置来浏览EPG。
上述附图及其描述是为了说明而不是为了限制本发明。显然有许多的替换方式，其落入随后的权利要求的范围内。在这点上，做出下述的接近的注释。借助于硬件或软件项目或者这两者，有多种实现功能的方式。在这点上，附图是非常概括性的，每个仅代表了本发明的一个可能的实施例。因此，即使一张附图显示了作为不同模块的不同功能，这决不排除由一个硬件或软件项目执行几种功能。也不排除由一个硬件或软件项目的集合，或是这两者来执行一种功能。
权利要求中的所有参考标记不应看作是对该权利要求的限制。动词“包括”的使用及它的结合也不排除除权利要求中所述的元件或步骤之外的其它元件或步骤的存在。在一个元件或步骤之前的量词“一”或“一个”的使用不排除多个这种元件或步骤的存在。

Claims (7)

1.在传输系统中，一种用于从传输系统接收节目的接收器，该接收器包括：电子节目指南装置，用于浏览包含多个节目频道上信息的电子节目指南，所述电子节目指南装置包括一个服务器模块和至少一个指定到远程装置的客户机模块，以便根据远程装置的请求，服务器模块管理对电子节目指南信息中指定客户机模块的导航。
2.一种远程装置，包括输入和输出装置，用于经由接收器访问包含从传输系统中传送的多个节目频道上信息的电子节目指南，该接收器具有用于浏览所述电子节目指南的电子节目指南装置，所述电子节目指南装置包括一个服务器模块和至少一个指定到所述远程装置的客户机模块，以便根据远程装置的请求，服务器模块管理对电子节目指南信息中指定客户机模块的导航。
3.一种如权利要求2中所请求的远程装置，其中所述输出装置包括显示装置，用于在所述显示装置上查看该电子节目指南。
4.一种家庭娱乐系统，包括一个接收器，用于从传输系统中接收节目，所述接收器包括电子节目指南装置，用于浏览包含多个节目频道上信息的电子节目指南，以及多个远程装置，包括用于访问所述电子节目指南的输入及输出装置，所述电子节目指南装置包括一个服务器模块和指定到所述远程装置的多个客户机模块，以便根据远程装置的请求，服务器模块管理对电子节目指南信息中指定客户机模块的导航。
5.一种在传输系统中经由连接到至少一个远程装置的接收器而远程浏览从传输系统中传送的包含多个节目频道上信息的电子节目指南的方法，所述接收器具有用于浏览所述电子节目指南的电子节目指南装置，所述电子节目指南装置包括一个服务器模块和至少一个指定到所述远程装置的客户机模块，该方法包括以下步骤，即根据远程装置的请求而管理电子节目指南信息内指定的客户机模块的导航。
6.一种使接收器计算一组指令的计算机程序产品，当它被载入到接收器时，引起接收器执行如权利要求5中所请求的方法。
7.用于承载计算机程序的信号，所述计算机程序用于执行如权利要求5中所请求的方法。
