It should be noted that, in the embodiment of the present application, only the core network device in the NR system is described as an example, and the specific type of the core network device is not limited.
To facilitate a better understanding of the embodiments of the present application, UE capabilities are described.
The UE capabilities are further divided into Core Network (CN) capabilities and radio access Network (Radio Access Network, RAN) capabilities according to the Network elements used by the UE capabilities. RAN capabilities may also be referred to as radio access capabilities (radio access capability), which are the capabilities of the terminal to communicate with the radio access network element.
UE capabilities include optional UE capabilities and optional UE capabilities. The optional UE capability is to ensure that the terminal and the network side can perform most basic communication, and the function (function)/feature/procedure (procedure) supported by the terminal is compulsively required, so that the optional UE capability does not need to be reported. Wherein, the optional UE capability is a function/characteristic/flow that allows the UE to optionally support in consideration of different terminal types, communication scenarios, requirements, and the like. The optional UE capability needs to be reported to the network side in order for the network side to send configuration parameters supported by the UE.
In order to facilitate better understanding of the embodiments of the present application, reporting of UE radio access capability is described.
The radio access capability of the UE includes a very large number of parameters, such as the frequency band supported by the UE (band), the combination of frequency bands supported (BC), and the technical characteristics supported (feature). For some technical characteristics (features), the UE may also report whether to support the characteristics according to fine granularity, such as per band (per BC), per band combination (per BC), or per carrier (per CC per band per BC) per band combination.
In order to reduce signaling overhead caused by reporting the wireless access capability of the UE over the air, the wireless access capability reported by the UE may be stored in the core network, and when the serving base station of the UE is changed, the changed serving base station obtains the wireless access capability of the UE from the core network, and only when the core network also does not have the stored wireless access capability of the UE, the changed serving base station requests the UE to report the wireless access capability of the UE from the UE. The base station requests the UE to report the radio access capability by sending a UE capability request (UECapabilityEnquiry) to the UE, and the UE sends UE capability information (UE capability information) after receiving the UE capability request (UECapabilityEnquiry), where the UE capability information (UE capability information) carries the radio access capability of the UE, and may be specifically shown in fig. 2.
Such radio access capability of UEs stored in the core network is generally considered to be a relatively static capability, as it is not dynamically changed.
When the UE reports the radio access capability, the UE reports the supported band combination, such as band combination { A, B, Z }, for the band combination, and also reports the corresponding feature set combination (Feature Set Combinations), and Feature Set Combinations is the allocation/combination manner of the capability of the terminal under the band combination on each band. Since the terminal reports the corresponding Feature Set Combinations for each band combination, the signaling overhead is very large, and Feature Set Combinations may be similar or even the same considering different band combinations, when the UE reports the radio access capability, the UE reports a feature set combination pool (Feature Set Combinations pool), where the feature set combination pool includes several Feature Set Combinations, each feature set combination is given by a feature set combination identifier, and then the UE can index some Feature Set Combinations in Feature Set Combinations pool for each band combination by Feature Set Combinations ID, so that multiplexing of the same Feature Set Combinations on different band combinations can be achieved.
Further, when the UE reports each Feature Set Combinations in Feature Set Combinations pool, each Feature Set Combinations is reported according to the per band mode shown in fig. 3, and if a Feature Set Combinations band combination corresponds to 3 bands, the Feature Set Combinations includes a Feature Set of the first band, a Feature Set of the second band, and a Feature Set of the third band. In order to further reduce the reporting overhead of the Feature Set of the per band, the UE also reports a Feature Set pool (Feature Set pool), so that if the Feature Set of the first band and the Feature Set of the second band are identical, i.e. include N multiple identical parameters, the UE only needs to report the Feature Set once, and then report the index of the Feature Set in the Feature Set pool for the first band and the second band, respectively.
For better understanding of the embodiments of the present application, the usage scenario of the embodiments of the present application is illustrated, but the usage scenario of the embodiments of the present application is not limited to the illustrated examples.
In actual communication, there is a situation that a Backhaul (Backhaul) condition (such as WiFi connection, bluetooth connection, wired connection, etc.) is ideal between two UEs, where the capability or hardware of one UE (such as auxiliary UE (assistant UE)) may be used to assist the communication between the other UE (such as anchor UE) and the network side, so as to improve the transmission reliability and throughput of the anchor UE, or reduce the power consumption of the anchor UE. Specifically, this relationship between ASSISTANT UE and the anchor UE is UE aggregation, where the capability of the anchor UE may exceed the capability of the UE stored on the network side (e.g., the core network) under the aggregation condition. When two UEs are aggregated, the network side does not know ASSISTANT UE aggregated with the anchor UE, that is, the network side cannot perceive the capability change of the anchor UE, so that the available capability of the anchor UE cannot be fully utilized, and the performances of the anchor UE such as the transmission rate, the transmission stability and the like are affected.
In order to facilitate understanding of the technical solution of the embodiments of the present application, the technical solution of the present application is described in detail below through specific embodiments. The above related technologies may be optionally combined with the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present application, which all belong to the protection scope of the embodiments of the present application. Embodiments of the present application include at least some of the following.

S230, after the terminal reports the first wireless access capability, the terminal reports first information to the access network equipment, wherein the first information is used for indicating second wireless access capability, and the second wireless access capability is the wireless access capability additionally provided by the terminal on the basis of the first wireless access capability;
s240, after the access network device acquires the first radio access capability, the access network device receives the first information from the terminal.
It should be understood that fig. 4 illustrates steps or operations of the capability reporting method 200, but these steps or operations are merely examples, and that other operations or variations of the operations of fig. 4 may also be performed by the present application.
In some implementations, in the above S210, the terminal reports the first radio access capability to the access network device, in which case, in the above S220, the access network device receives the first radio access capability from the terminal.
In other implementations, in the S210, the terminal reports the first radio access capability to the core network device, in which case, in the S220, the access network device obtains the first radio access capability of the terminal from the core network device.
In some implementations, the terminal reports the first radio access capability to the first access network element at a certain moment (for example, when initial registration is performed after the terminal is started), the first access network element sends the first radio access capability to the core network element for storage, then the terminal disconnects the RRC connection with the first access network element, and when the terminal subsequently establishes or resumes the RRC connection on the second access network element, the second access network element acquires the first radio access capability of the terminal from the core network element.
It should be noted that, the first radio access capability in the embodiment of the present application refers not to a certain capability, but generally refers to the overall radio access capability of the terminal, which includes a series of radio capability parameters, such as a supported frequency point, a supported frequency band combination, a supported characteristic, and so on.
The second radio access capability in the embodiment of the present application may be a radio access capability that is additionally provided by the terminal on the basis of the first radio access capability.
In some implementations, the first or second wireless access capability may be a capability of a certain characteristic (e.g., supported band) or a capability of multiple characteristics (e.g., supported band and supported band combination).
Alternatively, the first radio access capability and the second radio access capability may correspond to the same characteristics.
Alternatively, the terminal may have additional radio access capabilities on the basis of the first radio access capability in some special configurations. For example, for a terminal with a folding function, the terminal has a first radio access capability when in a folded state, and may have an additional radio access capability based on the first radio access capability when the terminal is in an unfolded or unfolded state, in other words, the terminal with the folding function may increase the radio access capability when being folded or unfolded.
Alternatively, the terminal may have additional radio access capabilities on the basis of the first radio access capability in some special scenarios. For example, the terminal may have a first radio access capability when not in aggregation, and the available radio access capability may be obtained from other terminals connected to it (wirelessly or wiredly) in the aggregation scenario, i.e. the terminal may have additional radio access capability based on the first radio access capability in the aggregation scenario, in which case the additional radio access capability the terminal may have may be part or all of the radio access capability of the other terminals. For example, in the case of aggregation of UE1 and UE2, the first radio access capability is the radio access capability of UE1 and the second radio access capability is part or all of the radio access capability of UE2 for UE 1.
Specifically, in the aggregation scenario, where at least two UEs have ideal backhaul conditions (such as WiFi, bluetooth, wired connection, etc.), the capability/hardware of one or more UEs (which may be referred to as assistance UE (assistant UE)) may be used to assist the communication between another UE (which may be referred to as anchor UE) and the network side, so as to improve the transmission reliability and throughput of the anchor UE, or reduce the power consumption of the anchor UE.
The wireless access capability (e.g., first wireless access capability, second wireless access capability, etc.) according to the embodiments of the present application may include, but is not limited to, at least one of the following:
The method includes the steps of a frequency band supported by a terminal (band), a frequency band combination supported by the terminal (band combination), a maximum data rate supported by the terminal, a maximum transmitting power supported by the terminal, a bandwidth supported by the terminal, a multiple input multiple output (Multiple Input Multiple Output, MIMO) layer number supported by the terminal, a characteristic supported by the terminal, a measurement capability supported by the terminal (such as a frequency point for supporting measurement, a frequency point number, whether scheduling is affected during measurement, and the like).
For example, the first radio access capability of the terminal indicates support of band a, B, C, and the second radio access capability indicates support of band D, and the network side knows that the terminal supports band a, B, C, D.
For another example, the first radio access capability of the terminal indicates that the MIMO capability is 2, and the second radio access capability indicates that the MIMO capability is 4 (or indicates that the MIMO capability is increased by 2), and the network side knows that the MIMO capability supported by the terminal is 4. Specifically, since granularity of MIMO capability may be per CC per band per BC, then the indication of additional capability may also be one-to-one, i.e., per CC per band per BC, reporting additional MIMO capability.
In some embodiments, the terminal sends the first information to the current serving access network apparatus in an RRC connected state, where the first information may be carried by one of the following:
Radio resource Control (Radio Resource Control, RRC) messages, medium access Control (MEDIA ACCESS Control, MAC) signaling, physical layer signaling.
The first information may be UE assistance information, UE information response information, UE capability information, for example.
In other embodiments, the terminal may report the first information during RRC connection establishment, recovery, reestablishment, and handover so that the access network device may utilize the additional capabilities of the terminal as soon as possible. The first information may be carried by one of an RRC connection setup complete message, an RRC reconfiguration complete message, an RRC connection reestablishment complete message, an RRC connection resume request message, message 1 in four-step random access, message a in two-step random access, and a Logical Channel Identification (LCID), for example.
In some embodiments, after the terminal reports the first information, the terminal receives specific configuration information, where the specific configuration information is used to configure parameters related to the second radio access capability.
In the embodiment of the application, the terminal can report the wireless access capability additionally provided on the basis of the first wireless access capability, namely the second wireless access capability, so that the situation that the wireless access capability of the terminal cannot be fully utilized due to the fact that the network side is unaware of the second wireless access capability of the terminal is avoided, and the transmission rate and the transmission stability of the terminal can be improved.
In some embodiments, the first information includes, but is not limited to, at least one of:
The second wireless access capability;
first characteristic information, the first characteristic information is used for the access network equipment to determine the second wireless access capability from a stored characteristic set combination or characteristic set pool;
a first capability identification, the first capability identification being used to indicate the second wireless access capability.
As an implementation manner, the second wireless access capability may be directly reported in the first information, so that the processing complexity of the network side may be simplified, and the method is applicable to a case where the second wireless access capability is less.
As another embodiment, when the first radio access capability reported by the terminal includes a feature set combination pool (feature set combination pool) and a feature set pool (feature set pool), the first information sent by the terminal may carry first feature information. Specifically, for example, the first characteristic information is a characteristic set combination identifier (feature set combination ID), the access network device determines a characteristic set combination currently supported by the terminal (i.e., the second wireless access capability) based on the characteristic set combination identifier reported by the terminal and a characteristic set combination pool stored by the access network device, for example, the first characteristic information is a characteristic set combination uniquely determined from the characteristic set combination pool stored by the access network device based on the characteristic set combination identifier reported by the terminal, i.e., the characteristic set currently supported by the terminal, or the first characteristic information is a characteristic set identifier (feature set ID), and the access network device determines a characteristic set currently supported by the terminal (i.e., the second wireless access capability) based on the characteristic set identifier reported by the terminal and the characteristic set pool stored by the access network device, for example, the characteristic set uniquely determined from the characteristic set pool stored by the access network device based on the characteristic set identifier reported by the terminal, i.e., the characteristic set currently supported by the terminal. The embodiment can reduce signaling overhead, and is suitable for the situation that the first wireless access capability and the second wireless access capability of the terminal support the same characteristic set or the characteristic set combination. It should be noted that the feature set combination identifier or the feature set identifier carried in the first information may be more than one, for example, the terminal may report multiple feature set combination identifiers, where each feature set combination identifier corresponds to a specific band combination, and further, for example, the terminal may report a corresponding feature set identifier for at least one band in a certain band combination.
It should be noted that, the association relationship between the feature set combination identifier and the feature set combination pool, and the association relationship between the feature set identifier and the feature set pool may refer to the above description about reporting the radio access capability of the terminal, which is not repeated herein for brevity.
As another embodiment, the first information may carry the first capability identity, and the first capability identity may be a terminal capability identity (UE capability ID) in radio capability signaling optimization (Radio Capabilities Signaling Optimization, RACS), in which case the core network supports RACS functions. Specifically, for example, the access network device may forward the first capability identifier to the core network device, and then, the core network device uniquely determines a set of radio access capabilities, that is, the second radio access capability, based on the first capability identifier, and forwards the second radio access capability to the access network device. The embodiment can reduce signaling overhead and is suitable for the situation that the second wireless access capability is stored in the core network equipment. For example, in a UE aggregation scenario, when two UEs are not aggregated, a first radio access capability of each UE is stored in a core network device, and when two UEs are aggregated, an anchor UE reports a radio access capability identifier of an auxiliary UE to a network side, and the network side queries the radio access capability of the auxiliary UE according to the radio access capability identifier, and sends capability information to an access network device, where the capability information is regarded as a second radio access capability of the anchor UE.
In some embodiments, the capability reporting method 200 further includes that the terminal reports updated first information to the access network device;
the updated first information is used for indicating the updated second wireless access capability.
Illustratively, at time 1, UE 1 is aggregated with UE 2, UE 1 indicating the radio access capability of UE 2 via the first information. At time 2, UE 1 and UE 3 are aggregated, then UE 1 updates the first information, and indicates the radio access capability of UE 3 through the updated first information.
In this embodiment, the terminal may indicate the updated second wireless access capability by reporting the updated first information, so that the network side may timely learn the updated second wireless access capability.
In some embodiments, a terminal reports updated first information to an access network device according to a first timer, wherein the first timer is started after the terminal reports the first information, and the terminal is allowed to report the updated first information under the condition that the first timer is overtime. Optionally, during the operation of the first timer, the terminal is prohibited or not allowed to report the updated first information.
In this embodiment, the terminal reports the updated first information to the access network device according to the first timer, so that frequent updating of the first information by the terminal can be avoided.
Alternatively, the duration of the first timer may be configured by the network side, or may be agreed by a protocol.
In some embodiments, the terminal starts the first timer immediately after reporting the first information, or starts the first timer after a first period of time elapses after reporting the first information. Alternatively, the first duration may be configured by the network side, or the first duration may be agreed by a protocol.
In some embodiments, the first information includes at least two sets of the second wireless access capabilities.
In particular, for example, the information element contained by each of the at least two sets of second radio access capabilities may be different.
In particular, for another example, the information elements comprised by each of the at least two sets of second radio access capabilities may be identical, but at least some of the information elements of different sets of second radio access capabilities may be different in value.
In some embodiments, the capability reporting method 200 further includes:
And the terminal sends second information to the access network equipment, wherein the second information is used for indicating the second wireless access capability applied by the terminal in the at least two sets of second wireless access capabilities.
In this embodiment, the terminal may send the second information based on the actual requirement, and instruct the terminal to apply the second wireless access capability in at least two sets of second wireless access capabilities, where, in a case where the second wireless access capability needs to be updated, only the updated second information needs to be reported, and the first information does not need to be repeatedly reported.
Alternatively, the second information may be carried by an RRC message, a MAC CE, or physical layer signaling. The second information may be sent after entering the RRC connection state, or may be sent during the process of establishing, recovering, reestablishing the RRC connection, and switching, and the specific message may refer to the sending of the first information, which is not described herein again.
In some embodiments, the capability reporting method 200 further includes:
the terminal reports updated second information to the access network equipment;
The updated second information is used for indicating the second wireless access capability of the updated terminal applied in the at least two sets of second wireless access capabilities.
In this embodiment, the terminal may indicate the updated second wireless access capability of the terminal application by reporting the updated second information, so that the network side may timely learn the updated second wireless access capability.
In some embodiments, the terminal reports updated second information to the access network device according to a second timer, wherein the second timer is started after the terminal reports the second information, and the terminal is allowed to report the updated second information under the condition that the second timer is overtime. Optionally, during the operation of the second timer, the terminal is prohibited or not allowed to report the updated second information.
In this embodiment, the terminal reports the updated second information to the access network device according to the second timer, so that frequent updating of the second information by the terminal can be avoided.
Alternatively, the duration of the second timer may be configured by the network side, or may be agreed by a protocol.
In some embodiments, before the terminal reports the first information to the access network device, the capability reporting method 200 further includes:
the terminal receives first configuration information from the access network equipment;
The first configuration information is used for indicating content which is allowed to be carried by the first information.
In this embodiment, the content allowed to be carried by the first information may be indicated by the first configuration information, so that the terminal is prevented from carrying the content uninteresting by the network in the first information, and thus signaling overhead of the first information may be reduced.
Optionally, the first configuration information may be used to configure a filter, where the filter is used to limit content carried by the first information, or the filter is used to filter content allowed to be carried by the first information. Specifically, for example, the filter may be an additional capability indicating that the network side is interested, e.g., band of interest, band combination of interest.
Optionally, the first configuration information is used for indicating whether the terminal is allowed to report the second wireless access capability or is used for indicating the second wireless access capability which is allowed to report by the terminal.
Optionally, the first configuration information may be carried by:
RRC reconfiguration message, RRC connection recovery message.
In some embodiments, the step S230 may specifically include:
the terminal reports the first information to the access network device if at least one of the following is satisfied:
the network side allows the terminal to report the second wireless access capability;
And the network side requests the terminal to report the second wireless access capability.
In some embodiments, before the terminal reports the first information to the access network device, the capability reporting method 200 further includes:
The terminal sends first indication information to the access network equipment;
the first indication information is used for indicating whether the terminal has the second wireless access capability or not.
In this embodiment, the terminal may send the first indication information, so that the network side may timely learn whether the terminal has the second wireless access capability, so that the network side may enable reporting of the first information as soon as possible when the terminal has the second wireless access capability, so that the network side may timely acquire the first information.
In some embodiments, the first indication information is carried by one of:
RRC connection setup complete message, RRC reconfiguration complete message, RRC connection reestablishment complete message, RRC connection resume request message, message 1 in four-step random access (message 1, msg 1), message a in two-step random access (message a, msg a), logical channel identification (Logical CHANNEL IDENTITY, LCID), terminal assistance information.
In some embodiments, before the terminal sends the first indication information to the access network device, the capability reporting method 200 further includes:
the terminal receives second configuration information from the access network equipment;
The second configuration information is used for indicating whether the terminal is allowed to send the first indication information in at least one of an RRC connection establishment process, an RRC connection recovery process and an RRC connection reestablishment process.
Alternatively, the second configuration information may be carried by broadcast or dedicated signaling (e.g., RRC release (release) message).
In some embodiments, before the terminal reports the first information to the access network device, the capability reporting method 200 further includes:
the terminal sends second indication information to the access network equipment;
The second indication information is used for indicating the terminal to support reporting of the second wireless access capability.
In this embodiment, the terminal may send the second indication information, so that the network side may timely learn that the terminal supports reporting the second wireless access capability, so that the network side may enable reporting of the first information as soon as possible, so that the network side may timely acquire the first information.
Alternatively, the second indication information may be carried by UE capability information.
In some embodiments, the capability reporting method 200 further includes:
the terminal sends third information to the access network equipment;
the third information is used for indicating capability information which cannot coexist with the second wireless access capability in the first wireless access capability, or the third information is used for indicating capability information which can coexist with the second wireless access capability in the first wireless access capability.
Specifically, for example, considering that in the aggregation scenario, ASSISTANT UE transmissions may cause a certain interference to the transmissions of the anchor UE. Therefore, the Anchor UE may report, in addition to the first information, third information for indicating capability information in the first radio access capability that cannot coexist with the second radio access capability, or for indicating capability information in the first radio access capability that can coexist with the second radio access capability. For example, the third information may indicate that the band combination { a+b } in the first radio access capability may coexist with the band X in the second radio access capability, but that the band combination { a+c } in the first radio access capability cannot coexist with the band X in the second radio access capability.
In some embodiments, all the first radio access capabilities of the terminal cannot coexist with the second radio access capability, and then, when the terminal reports or activates the second radio access capability, the first radio access capability cannot be used or is temporarily not supported, which may be indicated to the network side explicitly or implicitly.
In some embodiments, the capability reporting method 200 further includes:
The terminal sends fourth information to the access network equipment, wherein the fourth information is used for indicating at least one of whether the second wireless access capability is applied and deleting the first information.
Optionally, the fourth information may be further used to indicate whether to activate the second radio access capability.
In some embodiments, the fourth information may be carried by one of:

Therefore, in the embodiment of the present application, after the terminal reports the first radio access capability, the terminal reports first information to the access network device, where the first information is used to indicate the second radio access capability, and the second radio access capability is a radio access capability that the terminal additionally has on the basis of the first radio access capability. Specifically, the terminal can report the wireless access capability additionally provided on the basis of the first wireless access capability, so that the situation that the wireless access capability of the terminal cannot be fully utilized due to the fact that the network side is unaware of the second wireless access capability of the terminal is avoided, and therefore the transmission rate and the transmission stability of the terminal can be improved.

In other implementations, in S310, the terminal reports at least two sets of third radio access capabilities to the first access network element at a certain moment (for example, when the terminal is initially registered after being started), the first access network element sends the at least two sets of third radio access capabilities to the second access network element for storage, then the terminal disconnects the RRC connection with the first access network element, when the terminal subsequently establishes or resumes the RRC connection on the second access network element, the second access network element acquires the at least two sets of third radio access capabilities of the terminal from the core network element (the subsequent terminal can report fifth information to the second access network element), or when the terminal subsequently establishes or resumes the RRC connection on the second access network element, the terminal sends fifth information to the second access network element through AS layer signaling, the fifth information carries index/identification information corresponding to the third radio access capabilities applied by the terminal, the second network element sends the fifth information to the core network element, and the second access network element inquires about the fifth information to the core network element based on the fifth information carrying the fifth radio access capabilities applied by the terminal, and the second access network element is queried on the fifth information carrying the index/identification information.
Optionally, the sets of third radio access capabilities reported by the terminal, the corresponding index information may be explicitly indicated by the terminal, or mapped in a preset manner (e.g., according to the number of bits of the sets of third radio access capabilities appearing in the message, e.g., further differentiated according to information elements (Information elements, IE) carried by different third radio access capabilities, e.g., higher-order capability and lower-order capability IE). The AS layer and the NAS layer of the terminal can mutually transfer index/identification information corresponding to the third wireless access capability when needed so AS to accurately send the fifth information.
In the embodiment of the application, the terminal can correspond to different third wireless access capabilities in different forms. For example, for a terminal with a folding function, one set of third radio access capabilities may be provided when the terminal is in a folded configuration, and another set of third radio access capabilities may be provided when the terminal is in an unfolded or flipped-open configuration, in other words, the terminal with a folding function has at least two sets of third radio access capabilities. If the folding screen of the terminal has two sets of different third wireless access capabilities in the opening and closing state.
In the embodiment of the application, the terminal can have at least two sets of third wireless access capability in different scenes. For example, the terminal may obtain available radio access capabilities from other terminals connected (wirelessly or wiredly) to the terminal in the aggregation scenario, i.e. the terminal may have a third set of radio access capabilities in the aggregation scenario, in which case the additional radio access capabilities the terminal may have may be part or all of the radio access capabilities of the other terminals. In a non-aggregation scenario, the terminal is provided with a third set of wireless access capabilities.
It should be noted that, in the aggregation scenario, the at least two UEs have ideal backhaul conditions (such as WiFi, bluetooth, wired connection, etc.), and the capability/hardware of one or more UEs (which may be referred to as assistance UE (assistant UE)) may be used to assist the communication between another UE (which may be referred to as anchor UE) and the network side, so as to improve the transmission reliability and throughput of the anchor UE, or reduce the power consumption of the anchor UE.
In an embodiment of the present application, the set of third wireless access capabilities may include, but is not limited to, at least one of:
The method comprises the steps of a frequency band supported by a terminal (band), a frequency band combination supported by the terminal (band combination), a maximum data rate supported by the terminal, a maximum transmitting power supported by the terminal, a bandwidth supported by the terminal, a MIMO layer number supported by the terminal, a characteristic supported by the terminal (feature), a measurement capability supported by the terminal (such as a frequency point for supporting measurement, a frequency point number, whether scheduling is affected during measurement or not, and the like).
In some embodiments, the at least two sets of third wireless Access capabilities may be carried by Access Stratum (AS) layer signaling or NAS layer signaling. The at least two sets of third wireless access capabilities may be reported by a terminal capability information message, for example.
In particular, for example, the information elements comprised by each of the at least two sets of third radio access capabilities may be different.
For another example, the information elements included in each of the at least two sets of third radio access capabilities may be the same, but the values of at least some of the information elements of different sets of third radio access capabilities may be different.
Optionally, the fifth information may include a specific bit for indicating that the terminal switches the third radio access capability. For example, a value of 0 is used to indicate that the terminal does not switch the third wireless access capability, a value of 1 is used to indicate that the terminal switches the third wireless access capability, or a value of 1 is used to indicate that the terminal does not switch the third wireless access capability, and a value of 0 is used to indicate that the terminal switches the third wireless access capability.
Optionally, the fifth information may indicate a set of the third radio access capabilities applied or activated by the terminal, meaning that the third radio access capabilities that are not activated default to a deactivated/unsupported/non-applied state. Optionally, the fifth information may indicate a plurality of sets of the third radio access capabilities applied or activated by the terminal.
In some embodiments, the fifth information is carried by one of:
RRC connection setup complete message, RRC reconfiguration complete message, RRC connection reestablishment complete message, RRC connection resume request message, message 1 in four-step random Access (Msg 1), message a in two-step random Access (Msg a), LCID, terminal assistance information, non-Access Stratum (NAS) message.
In some embodiments, before the terminal reports the fifth information, the capability reporting method 300 further includes:
The terminal receives third configuration information;
Wherein the third configuration information is used for indicating whether the terminal is allowed to transmit the fifth information in at least one of an RRC connection setup procedure, an RRC connection recovery procedure, and an RRC connection reestablishment procedure.
Specifically, for example, the terminal receives third configuration information from the access network device.
Alternatively, the third configuration information may be carried by broadcast or dedicated signaling (e.g., RRC release message).
In some embodiments, in a case where the access network device receives the at least two sets of third wireless access capabilities from the terminal, the capability reporting method 300 further includes:
and the access network equipment sends the at least two sets of third wireless access capability to the core network equipment.
In some embodiments, in a case where the core network device receives fifth information from the terminal, the capability reporting method 300 further includes:
And the core network equipment sends sixth information to the access network equipment, wherein the sixth information is used for indicating the third wireless access capability applied by the terminal in the at least two sets of third wireless access capability.
In this embodiment, the access network device may learn, through the sixth information, a third radio access capability applied by the terminal in at least two sets of third radio access capabilities.
Therefore, in the embodiment of the application, after the terminal reports at least two sets of third wireless access capabilities, the terminal reports fifth information, wherein the fifth information is used for indicating at least one of the third wireless access capabilities applied by the terminal in the at least two sets of third wireless access capabilities, and the terminal switches the third wireless access capabilities. Specifically, the terminal can report at least two sets of third wireless access capability, instruct the third wireless access capability applied currently or switch the third wireless access capability, and avoid that the wireless access capability of the terminal cannot be fully utilized due to unknowing of at least two sets of third wireless access capability of the terminal at the network side, thereby improving the transmission rate and the transmission stability of the terminal.
