Abstract
本发明公开了一种聚烯烃基木塑复合材料及其制备方法,采用聚烯烃和乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物(EVOH)改性的植物纤维为主要原料,添加增塑剂、稳定剂、润滑剂等通过塑料加工中通用的熔融共混方法制备出机械性能良好、环境友好的木塑复合材料。本发明的木塑复合材料可用于如建材、装饰材料、发泡材料、板材、包装材料、玩具、汽车零件等常规领域,拓宽了乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物的应用范围。

技术领域
本发明属于聚合物加工技术领域,具体涉及一种聚烯烃基木塑复合材料及其制备方法。
背景技术
木塑复合材料是以植物纤维为主要组分与热塑性塑料通过一定的成型加工方法复合而形成的一种新型材料,其兼具天然纤维与塑料的双重特性,能弥补两者的不足、克服木材的强度低和变异性大等使用局限性,具有价格低廉、力学性能好、耐酸碱腐蚀、可回收利用等特点,可在多种场合替代木材使用,它的研制和推广将有效缓解我国石油和森林资源供应紧缺的矛盾,减少塑料和农业废弃物焚烧对环境的污染。
然而,尽管发展木塑复合材料的意义重大,但它的开发与应用也面临着许多问题。由于植物纤维表面含有大量的醇羟基和酚羟基,这些羟基易形成分子间或分子内氢键,具有强极性和吸水性;而热塑性聚合物表面一般为非极性或弱极性,当两者复合时植物纤维在聚合物基体中的分散性不佳,易发生团聚,两者相容性差,界面咬合力较弱。当材料受到外力作用时,应力在界面处不能得到有效传递,容易发生界面脱粘使得材料发生破坏。因此,提高植物纤维与聚合物间的界面相容性,是制备木塑复合材料要解决的关键问题。
国内许多学者对如何提高植物纤维与聚合物基体的相容性进行了大量的研究,一般采取通过物理或化学的手段处理植物纤维或添加相容剂来改善纤维与基体之间的相容性,如采用碱处理、酰化、醚化植物纤维或添加硅烷偶联剂、异氰酸酯偶联剂、马来酸酐接枝聚合物等作为相容剂,以期改善植物纤维与聚合物基体的相容性,但这些方法均有一些不足之处。如用碱处理植物纤维主要是通过溶解植物纤维中的果胶、木质素等,增加植物纤维与聚合物基体的接触面来提高界面咬合力,属于物理机械咬合作用,对制品性能的提高有限;而且碱处理方法过程繁琐,处理的废液会对环境造成严重的污染,一般较少采用。偶联剂是一类处理效果较好的相容剂,但由于偶联剂价格比较昂贵,限制了它在工业上的应用。接枝聚合物是目前研究最多的一类相容剂,其中以马来酸酐接枝聚合物最为普遍。但马来酸酐接枝聚合物的生产需要另外的工序,而且生产过程中马来酸酐等小分子接枝单体的挥发对操作人员的呼吸道和眼睛产生严重的刺激,危害环境和操作人员身体健康。虽然使用马来酸酐接枝聚合物作为相容剂的原理是基于马来酸酐可与植物纤维上醇羟基和酚羟基发生酯化反应,但是由于马来酸酐接枝聚合物与植物纤维之间的酯化反应是大分子间反应,反应较为困难,现有资料并没有明确充分的实验事实证明酸酐基团与植物纤维发生了化学作用,因此它们之间的作用是物理的氢键作用还是化学结合还有待进一步的科学探索;而且由于马来酸酐接枝聚合物的接枝率较低,一般仅为0.4%~1%,因此要达到处理目的,需要的马来酸酐接枝聚合物用量较大。因此接枝聚合物作为相容剂使用首先要解决相容剂接枝率低的问题,但目前尚无较好的解决方法。近几年来,不少学者一直致力于聚烯烃多元接枝共聚物的研究(如中国专利申请号02118793,200510035486.3),以提高相容剂中极性基团的接枝率,但此方法类似于马来酸酐接枝聚合物的生产。制备方法及操作工艺较复杂,成本高,且同样存在小分子接枝单体对操作人员身体健康和环境的危害。
针对现有技术存在的问题,本发明采用商品化的乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物(EVOH)改性植物纤维。由于乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物中高达70-30%摩尔含量的乙烯醇结构单元,可与植物纤维表面含有的大量醇羟基和酚羟基产生氢键作用,天然地使其与植物纤维存在良好的相容性;且乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物中高达30-70%摩尔含量的乙烯结构单元与基体聚合物有良好的亲和性,可产生二者间大分子链缠绕,因此乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物作为替代上文中提及的常见相容剂、偶联剂等改性手段,可以很好地改善植物纤维与聚合物基体间的相容性,从而赋予聚烯烃基木塑复合材料良好的力学性能。这种改性方法目前尚无相关文献和专利报道。
检索大量的专利文献和公开发表的相关研究论文,仅发现张玉军等人在《黑龙江大学自然科学学报》上(2006,23(1):124-127)发表了“EVOH/蒙脱土插层复合材料的制备与结构表征”,该研究以聚乙烯吡咯烷酮改性蒙脱土(MMT)为无机相,以乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物为基体树脂,通过熔融插层制备出了EVOH/蒙脱土复合材料,减少复合材料的吸湿性,并改善性价比。唐忠柱等人在《功能高分子学报》(2005,18(3):368-372)上发表了“热塑性淀粉/乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物复合材料的制备与性能”,该研究用乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物与热塑性淀粉共混制备淀粉基生物降解材料,通过控制复合体系中乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物与热塑性淀粉的配比来控制复合体系的降解性能,乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物的加入量在10-40%之间,类似的研究还有张美洁等人在《塑料工业》(2003,31(1):27-29)发表的“TPS/EVOH共混物的制备及性能研究”。上述文中都只是把乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物作为与热塑性淀粉的共混原料以提高淀粉/乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物复合材料的降解性能,配方中价格昂贵的乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物的用量大,也没有明确指出把乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物作为热塑性淀粉的表面改性剂。同时检索到1篇有关乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物基复合材料的授权专利(ZL201110189511.9),该专利提供了一种利用硫酸钙和玉米淀粉制造乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物基复合材料及其制备工艺,其目的是为了降低乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物基复合材料的成本,并赋予复合材料一定的降解性。该专利通过加入硬脂酸对硫酸钙进行表面活化改性,以提高硫酸钙、玉米淀粉与乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物的相容性,同时改善熔体的流动性和复合材料的表面光滑度,可见该专利权人并未认识到乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物对硫酸钙和玉米淀粉存在的相容作用,而且专利ZL201110189511.9所涉及的添加物硫酸钙和玉米淀粉与本申请中植物纤维在科学分类中属于两类完全不同的物质,即该专利对本发明无启示作用。本发明直接利用乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物作为改善木塑复合材料中聚合物基体和植物纤维间的相容性,这一改性原理和改性方法系本申请人首次提出。
发明内容
本发明的目的在于提供一种聚烯烃基木塑复合材料及其制备方法,工艺简单,操作方便,生产效率高,制品生产成本低,得到的木塑复合材料具有价廉无毒、环境友好、良好的机械性能和材料可回收利用等优点,可用于如食品包装、玩具、建材、装饰材料、发泡材料、板材、汽车零件等领域,扩大了乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物的应用范围,
为实现上述目的,本发明采用如下技术方案:

所述的聚烯烃为所述的塑料包括以下热塑性塑料:聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚氯乙烯、聚苯乙烯、聚乙烯-醋酸乙烯酯,或是由它们组成的混合物。
所述的植物纤维原料包括木粉、竹粉及其它木质植物的茎叶、秆、壳等任何一种粉碎后的纤维或者它们的混合物。其纤维的平均粒径优选为20目以上,含水量优选在5%以下。
所述的乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物的乙烯摩尔含量为30-70%。
所述的增塑剂是邻苯二甲酸辛十三酯、邻苯二甲酸辛十四酯、邻苯二甲酸二乙酯、乙酰柠檬酸三丁酯、氯化石蜡、顺丁烯二酸二丁酯、硬脂酸、硬脂酸锌、硬脂酸钙、硬脂酸钡、己二酸二辛酯或聚氨酯增塑剂,或是由它们组成的混合物。
所述的抗氧剂是抗氧剂330、抗氧剂3114、抗氧剂1076、抗氧剂1010、抗氧剂CA、抗氧剂DLTP、抗氧剂2246、抗氧剂2246-S或抗氧剂300,或是由它们组成的混合物。
所述的润滑剂是指所述润滑剂为聚乙烯蜡、羟基硬脂酸、硬脂酸正丁酯、硬脂酸单甘油酯、油酰胺、硅油、硅酮、有机硅烷、液体石蜡、甘油三羟硬脂酸酯、N,N-乙撑双硬脂酸酰胺或极性基团改性的乙撑双脂肪酸酰胺,或是由它们组成的混合物。
所述的填料是碳酸钙、硅灰石、高岭土、粘土、云母、二氧化硅、玻璃微珠、石墨、碳黑、滑石粉、二氧化钛、氢氧化镁、氢氧化铝、氧化镁、氧化铝、硫酸钡、氧化锌,或是它们组成的混合物。
将以上所述的组分包括塑料、植物纤维、增塑剂、稳定剂、润滑剂和填料等通过塑料加工中通用的熔融共混方法而制得所述的木塑复合材料。
具体方法是先将植物纤维原料清除杂质、粉碎、过筛,在温度为80-100℃的条件下真空干燥2h。将乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物粉碎成粉体后在90-92℃真空烘箱中干燥8h。
将上述组分按配比先进行预混,使用的设备为通常塑料加工中所用的混料设备,如高速混合机、捏合机等。预混时可以视物料情况适当加温,此混合温度一般应低于100℃。将预混后的物料使用通用的橡塑共混设备进行熔融共混,再经过挤出造粒等步骤而得到本发明所述的木塑复合材料。共混设备为橡塑加工业中的通用共混设备,可以是双螺杆挤出机、单螺杆挤出机及密炼机等,转速为30-60r/min。
本发明的有益效果在于:(1)乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物中的乙烯醇结构单元可与植物纤维上的醇羟基和酚羟基产生良好的界面结合,无需另加界面相容剂。如果该技术得到大规模推广应用,可替代目前普遍使用的木塑复合材料改性方法,从而减轻因生产常规相容剂而带来的环境污染。因为商品化乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物是由具有严格环保措施的现代化大型化工企业生产,这与在一般塑料加工厂生产马来酸酐类接枝聚合物过程相比,环境污染小且便于集中治理。(2)乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物种类繁多,乙烯醇摩尔含量30-70%,改性剂选择余地大。乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物分子结构中乙烯和乙烯醇两种结构单元的比例可调,这为种类繁多及填充量迥异的聚合物基植物纤维复合材料的制备提供了广泛的选择余地。(3)可直接处理植物纤维,操作方便,工艺简单,生产效率高,制品生产成本低。(4)乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物本身无毒,用其处理植物纤维过程中对环境无污染。乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物为大分子改性剂,在制品使用过程中不存在析出、迁移等污染和失效问题。

原料组分按重量计为:高密度聚乙烯100份,乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物0.1份(乙烯摩尔含量为70%),甘油0.5份,木粉10份,抗氧剂10761份,抗氧剂3302份,聚乙烯蜡1份,液体石蜡2份,碳酸钙20份。
将木粉清除杂质、粉碎、过筛,在温度为80℃的条件下真空干燥2h。同时将乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物粉碎后在92℃真空烘箱中干燥8h。将干燥后的乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物粉体与甘油混合均匀后,对干燥后的木粉在150℃的高混机中以3000r/min进行活化处理5min,即得表面改性的木粉。然后在另一高混机中加入高密度聚乙烯、抗氧剂1076、抗氧剂330、聚乙烯蜡、液体石蜡、改性木粉和碳酸钙再混5min。取出混合料,投入双螺杆挤出机中,调节双螺杆挤出机螺杆转速为30r/min,加料口到机头口模的温度依次为160,180,183,188,192,198,202℃,螺杆混炼后挤出拉条,经水冷、干燥、切粒即得聚烯烃基木塑复合材料。在注射成型机(一至三区温度依次为:180、190、200℃)制得木塑复合托盘,可用于食品级快餐盒或者托盘。
使用万能材料试验机测试所得复合材料的力学性能,拉伸强度为31.79MPa,弯曲模量为3629MPa。
实施例2
原料组分按重量计为:聚氯乙烯100份,乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物3.6份(乙烯摩尔含量为30%),甘油18份,竹粉60份,复合热稳定剂5份,邻苯二甲酸辛十三酯5份,乙酰柠檬酸三丁酯5份,抗氧剂10103份,抗氧剂3004份,硬脂酸正丁酯9份,油酰胺6份,二氧化硅10份。
将竹粉清除杂质、粉碎、过筛,在温度为100℃的条件下真空干燥2h。同时将乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物粉碎后在90℃真空烘箱中干燥8h。将干燥后的乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物粉体与甘油混合均匀后,对干燥后的竹粉在190℃的高混机中以6000r/min进行活化处理10min,即得表面改性的竹粉。然后在另一高混机中加入聚氯乙烯、复合热稳定剂、邻苯二甲酸辛十三酯、乙酰柠檬酸三丁酯、抗氧剂1010、抗氧剂300、硬脂酸正丁酯、油酰胺、改性竹粉和二氧化硅以4000r/min再混10min。将混料倒入190℃的密炼机中在60r/min下混合10min,最后在190℃的平板硫化机上10MPa下热压10min后在室温下冷压15min制得木塑复合板材,可用于天花板或地板。
使用万能材料试验机测试所得复合材料的力学性能,拉伸强度为34.86MPa,弯曲模量为4562MPa。
实施例3
原料组分按重量计为:聚丙烯100份,乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物2.4份(乙烯摩尔含量为44%),甘油12份,麦秆40份,抗氧剂CA3份,抗氧剂22462份,硬脂酸单甘油酯3份,有机硅烷6份,硅灰石10份。
将麦秆清除杂质、粉碎、过筛,在温度为80℃的条件下真空干燥2h。同时将乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物粉碎后在91℃真空烘箱中干燥8h。将干燥后的乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物粉体与甘油混合均匀后,对干燥后的麦秆在175℃的高混机中以4500r/min进行活化处理7min,即得表面改性的麦秆。然后在另一高混机中加入聚丙烯、抗氧剂CA、抗氧剂2246、硬脂酸单甘油酯、有机硅烷、改性麦秆和硅灰石再混5min。取出混合料,投入双螺杆挤出机中,调节双螺杆挤出机螺杆转速为40r/min,加料口到机头口模的温度依次为163,183,186,191,195,200,204℃,螺杆混炼后挤出、切粒即得改性木粉。将混料在单螺杆挤出机上(一至七区的温度依次为:165、185、188、192、196、201、205℃)中挤出制备木塑复合管材。
使用万能材料试验机测试所得复合材料的力学性能,拉伸强度为33.15MPa,弯曲模量为4321MPa。
实施例4
原料组分按重量计为:乙烯-醋酸乙烯酯共聚物100份,乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物2.0份(乙烯摩尔含量为58%),甘油8份,糠壳粉50份,3份抗氧剂3114,3份抗氧剂300,云母10份,甘油三羟硬脂酸酯12份。
将糠壳粉清除杂质、粉碎、过筛,在温度为80℃的条件下真空干燥2h。同时将乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物粉碎后在92℃真空烘箱中干燥8h。将干燥后的乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物粉体与甘油混合均匀后,对干燥后的糠壳粉在170℃的高混机中以5000r/min进行活化处理8min,即得表面改性的糠壳粉。然后在另一高混机中加入聚丙烯、抗氧剂3114、抗氧剂300、甘油三羟硬脂酸酯、云母和改性糠壳粉再混5min。将混料倒入170℃的密炼机中在40r/min下混合10min,最后将混合物175℃的平板硫化机上10MPa下热压10min后在室温下冷压15min制得木塑复合板材。
使用万能材料试验机测试所得复合材料的力学性能,拉伸强度为32.85MPa,弯曲模量为4812MPa。
对比例1
原料组分按重量计为:乙烯-醋酸乙烯酯共聚物100份,甘油8份,糠壳粉50份,3份抗氧剂3114,3份抗氧剂300,云母10份,甘油三羟硬脂酸酯12份。
将糠壳粉清除杂质、粉碎、过筛,在温度为80℃的条件下真空干燥2h。同时将乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物粉碎后在92℃真空烘箱中干燥8h。将糠壳粉和甘油依次投入170℃的高混机中,以5000r/min混合10min后出料制得改性糠壳粉。然后在另一高混机中加入聚丙烯、抗氧剂3114、抗氧剂300、甘油三羟硬脂酸酯、云母和改性糠壳粉再混5min。将混料倒入170℃的密炼机中在40r/min下混合10min,最后在将混合物175℃的平板硫化机上10MPa下热压10min后在室温下冷压15min制得木塑复合板材。
使用万能材料试验机测试所得复合材料的力学性能,拉伸强度为16.35MPa,弯曲模量为1328MPa。
以上所述仅为本发明的较佳实施例,凡依本发明申请专利范围所做的均等变化与修饰,皆应属本发明的涵盖范围。
Claims (9)
1.一种聚烯烃基木塑复合材料,其特征在于:所述的复合材料由以下重量份数的原料制备而成:聚烯烃100份、乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物0.1-3.6份、甘油0.5-18份、植物纤维10-60份、增塑剂0-10份、抗氧剂3-7份、润滑剂3-15份、填料10-20份;
制备方法包括以下步骤:
(1)将植物纤维清除杂质、粉碎、过筛,80-100℃真空干燥2h;
(2)将乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物在90-92℃真空烘箱中干燥8h;
(3)将干燥后的乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物粉体与甘油混合均匀后,在150-190℃下对干燥后的植物纤维进行活化处理5-10min,获得表面改性的植物纤维;
(4)将聚烯烃、表面改性的植物纤维、增塑剂、抗氧剂、润滑剂和填料混合均匀,通过混炼、挤出、造粒得到所述的经乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物改性的聚烯烃基木塑复合材料。
2.根据权利要求1所述的聚烯烃基木塑复合材料,其特征在于:所述的聚烯烃为聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚氯乙烯、聚苯乙烯、聚乙烯-醋酸乙烯酯中的一种或多种的混合物。
3.根据权利要求1所述的聚烯烃基木塑复合材料,其特征在于:所述的植物纤维为木材、竹子、藤、秸秆、稻壳、麻、芦苇、椰壳、花生壳中的一种或多种,其纤维的平均粒径为20目以上,含水量在5%以下。
4.根据权利要求1所述的聚烯烃基木塑复合材料,其特征在于:所述的乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物的乙烯摩尔含量为30-70%。
5.根据权利要求1所述的聚烯烃基木塑复合材料,其特征在于:所述的增塑剂是邻苯二甲酸辛十三酯、邻苯二甲酸辛十四酯、邻苯二甲酸二乙酯、乙酰柠檬酸三丁酯、氯化石蜡、顺丁烯二酸二丁酯、硬脂酸、己二酸二辛酯、聚氨酯增塑剂中的一种或多种的混合物。
6.根据权利要求1所述的聚烯烃基木塑复合材料,其特征在于:所述的抗氧剂是抗氧剂330、抗氧剂3114、抗氧剂1076、抗氧剂1010、抗氧剂CA、抗氧剂DLTP、抗氧剂2246、抗氧剂2246-S、抗氧剂300中的一种或多种的混合物。
7.根据权利要求1所述的聚烯烃基木塑复合材料,其特征在于:所述的润滑剂为聚乙烯蜡、羟基硬脂酸、硬脂酸正丁酯、硬脂酸单甘油酯、油酰胺、硅油、硅酮、有机硅烷、液体石蜡、甘油三羟硬脂酸酯、N,N-乙撑双硬脂酸酰胺、极性基团改性的乙撑双脂肪酸酰胺中的一种或多种的混合物。
8.根据权利要求1所述的聚烯烃基木塑复合材料,其特征在于:所述的填料是碳酸钙、硅灰石、高岭土、粘土、云母、二氧化硅、玻璃微珠、石墨、碳黑、滑石粉、二氧化钛、氢氧化镁、氢氧化铝、氧化镁、氧化铝、硫酸钡、氧化锌中的一种或多种的混合物。
9.一种制备如权利要求1所述的聚烯烃基木塑复合材料的方法,其特征在于:包括以下步骤:
(1)将植物纤维清除杂质、粉碎、过筛,80-100℃真空干燥2h;
(2)将乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物在90-92℃真空烘箱中干燥8h;
(3)将干燥后的乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物粉体与甘油混合均匀后,在150-190℃下对干燥后的植物纤维进行活化处理5-10min,获得表面改性的植物纤维;
(4)将聚烯烃、表面改性的植物纤维、增塑剂、抗氧剂、润滑剂和填料混合均匀,通过混炼、挤出、造粒得到所述的经乙烯-乙烯醇共聚物改性的聚烯烃基木塑复合材料。
