Abstract

本发明涉及用于分配材料的系统和方法。本发明具体涉及通过使用热喷射系统用于分配材料的系统和方法。
背景技术
通过加热挥发性载体以形成传送喷射流来分配材料是众所周知的。热喷墨系统提供用于形成墨滴并使其精确沉积在基板上的装置。热驱动系统也可用于驱动其它材料的分配或分散,其同样通过使载体或待分配的实际材料挥发而进行。
为了使芳香剂散布于环境中,使挥发性油“雾化”以将其分散到环境中也是已知的。典型的分散系统产生分散于环境中的一系列油滴。许多此类油滴迅速从环境气氛中沉降,从而在表面上产生油性沉淀,并且更显著地,芳香剂油在环境气氛中的浓度减小。
需要一种将材料分散到环境中的改善的系统和方法,使得该材料可易于分散到环境中并且还可在更长的时间内维持气载。
发明内容
在一个方面,液体分配方法包括以下步骤:提供具有再填充定时器(RT)的分配装置,并且以大于约1/(RT)的频率重复地使激活元件通电。所述装置包括:多个液体分配元件,每个元件包括:具有高度(H)的腔室、具有直径(D)的喷嘴、具有长度(L)的激活元件,和再填充定时器(RT);与液体分配元件流体连通的容纳液体的贮存器;以及与液体分配元件电连通的控制元件。喷嘴直径(D)与腔室高度(H)的比率介于约3和约10之间。

具体实施方式
本公开涉及被构造成从热微流体管芯中喷射工作流体的流体递送系统。管芯包括在基板中所形成的一个或多个加热元件。基板可被电介质层覆盖,从而屏蔽加热元件直接与旨在由系统喷射的工作流体接触。每个加热元件邻近流体腔室并继而邻近喷嘴布置,所述喷嘴邻近流体腔室布置。与电子部件相关联的熟知的结构和半导体制造的细节不包括在说明书中。
在一个方面,本发明包括用于将液体分配到环境中的设备。设备包括容纳液体的贮存器。贮存器与分配元件或打印头流体连通。贮存器与分配元件之间的连通使流体能够从贮存器流动,以流入分配元件的腔室中。腔室通常为矩形棱柱并且具有高度(H)、长度(L)和宽度(W)。腔室的一个表面包括长度L2的激活元件。每个腔室邻近孔口或喷嘴布置,该孔口或喷嘴继而向设备的外部环境开放。在一个实施方案中,喷嘴直径D与腔室高度H的比率介于约3和约10之间。激活元件的长度L2与腔室高度H的比率可介于约3和约11之间。
在设计和制造腔室、管芯和喷嘴元件中,选择性操纵长度L2与腔室高度H的比率,和/或直径D与腔室高度H的比率可有利地使系统的操作条件实现。此类条件包括能够以超过流体完全再填充腔室的能力的速率从喷嘴排放流体。该操作模式的结果在于,从喷嘴排放的流体液滴可能小于喷嘴直径D,这可为当期望较小液滴但不期望较小的喷嘴直径或较小的喷嘴直径不可行时的操作益处。
控制元件被设置为与激活元件电连通,并且使通过激活元件能够向液体施加能量。
置于腔室内的液体可通过将能量从激活元件转移到液体而选择性地挥发。激活元件可包括电阻加热元件或压电元件。在将足够的能量转移给液体时,(例如,在热活化的情况下)液体的至少一部分将变得过热并将蒸发。腔室内的液体将经由喷嘴作为一个或多个液滴喷射到外部环境中。
在一个实施方案中,激活元件将能量脉冲赋予腔室内液体的频率超过液体可物理再填充腔室的频率。在腔室被液体完全填充之前,激活元件激发并激活液体。在一个实施方案中,针对具有表面张力为约30mN/m且粘度为约7mPa·s的流体、具有D~30um、H~10um和L~50um的直径的腔室而言,激活元件可以大于5000Hz的频率激发。
如图1中所示,装置1000包括多个分配元件100、与分配元件连通的流体储存器300,和与分配元件电连通的控制元件200。
图2提供了沿线AA截取的图1的一部分的剖面图,示出具有腔室150、喷嘴120,和激活元件160的分配元件100的内部结构。

Claims (4)
1.一种液体分配方法,所述方法包括以下步骤:
提供分配装置,所述装置包括:
多个液体分配元件,每个元件包括具有高度(H)的腔室、具有直径(D)的喷嘴、具有长度(L)的激活元件,和再填充定时器(RT);
与所述液体分配元件流体连通的容纳液体的贮存器;
与所述液体分配元件电连通的控制元件;
其中所述喷嘴直径(D)与腔室高度(H)的比率介于3和10之间;以及
以大于1/(RT)的频率重复地使所述激活元件通电。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述激活元件长度(L)与所述腔室高度(H)的所述比率介于3和11之间。
3.一种液体分配装置,所述装置包括:
多个液体分配元件,每个元件包括具有高度(H)的腔室和再填充定时器(RT)、具有直径(D)的喷嘴,和具有长度(L)的激活元件;
与所述液体分配元件流体连通的容纳液体的贮存器;
与所述液体分配元件电连通的控制元件;
其中所述激活元件长度(L)与所述腔室高度(H)的所述比率介于3和11之间。
4.根据权利要求3所述的装置,其中所述喷嘴直径(D)与腔室高度(H)的所述比率介于3和10之间。
