Zur Ausführung des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens legt man zunächst das Lösungsmittel in einem Rührgemäss vor, gibt das modifizierte Leinöl zu und fügt die Sikkative und das Biozid zu. Von den wahlweisen Zusatzstoffen wird der Hautverhinderer gleich nach den Sikkativen zugesetzt, das Rheologieadditiv nach dem Biozid. Nun schliesst sich das Einarbeiten der Wachsemulsion an. Unter Rühren fügt man nach und nach folgende Produkte zu: 25 kg Desmalkyd L 181, 0,3 kg Cobaltsikkativ (6% Co), 1 kg Calciumsikkativ (4% Ca.), 0,5 kg Zirkoniumsikkativ (12% Zr), 0,5 kg EXKIN 2 (Methylethylketoxim), 0,5 kg Biozid, 4 kg Bentone SD I (8%ige Paste) und 12 kg Lanco Glidd KH (25%ig in White Spirit).
