Abstract
The expander consists of two tubes (1) 10 - 13 mm long, moulded in one piece with a connecting filament (2) from a supple synthetic material such as silicone. The lower ends of the tubes have walls some 1.5 mm thick, reducing gradually in an upward direction to 1.2 mm for about half the circumference of the tubes. The wall thickness increases to 2.5 - 3 mm where it adjoins the connecting filament.

la fig. 2 représente le détail de l'un des petits tubes en coupe et en plan.
La partie inférieure des tubes 1 a une épaisseur de paroi d'environ 1.5 mm et varie, en montant graduellement jusqu'à une épaisseur d'environ 1.2 mm sur un peu plus de la moitié du pourtour. L'épaisseur de toute la paroi va en augmentant pour rejoindre le point d'attache du fil 2 qui a environ 2.5 mm à 3 mm de largeur sur toute la hauteur du tube.
Le fil d'attache 2 et les deux tubes 1 sont coulés dans un moule et forment qu'une seule pièce.

The lower part of the tubes 1 has a wall thickness of approximately 1.5 mm and varies, gradually rising to a thickness of approximately 1.2 mm over a little more than half the circumference. The thickness of the whole wall increases to reach the point of attachment of the wire 2 which is approximately 2.5 mm to 3 mm in width over the entire height of the tube.
The fastening wire 2 and the two tubes 1 are cast in a mold and form a single piece.
