Abstract

The coating material consists of at least one film made from plastics in the shape of the finger nail, one side of which is adhesive and adheres to the nail. The other side of the film is smooth and shiny. It can be coloured and can also have decorative designs. A number of these films can be affixed to a plastics support sheet from which they can be detached for a fixing to the finger nail. The smooth side of the film can also be covered by an easily detachable protective cover. In another variant the smooth side can be attached to support sheet, whilst the adhesive side of the film can be covered by protective paper. The advantage of the adhesive nails is that their surface is more uniform than when the nails are painted with varnish using a brush, they can have decorative designs and they do not have to be removed with a solvent.
