Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé de traitement de cendre volante et/ou de lixiviat de cendre volante pour immobiliser les métaux lourds contenus dans une telle cendre volante et/ou un tel lixiviat de cendre volante. Ce procédé comprend le traitement d'une telle cendre volante et/ou d'un tel lixiviat de cendre volante par un composé ferreux soluble dans des conditions alcalines. Ce procédé peut être conduit en l'absence de toutes étapes de modification de pH, de mélange (dans le sens d'un mélange physique avec une matière solide), de séchage ou de chauffage, le rendant pratique pour le traitement de la cendre volante alcaline (et autres sous-produits de combustion de charbon) qui est actuellement stockée dans des décharges ou dans des cuves à déjection de cendres humides, en particulier de la cendre volante qui a été récupérée à partir de courants de gaz de combustion traités par des matières hautement alcalines telles que le trona, le bicarbonate ou le calcaire et similaires.
