TABLE PROVIDING CHANGEABLE TABLE TOP AREA
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a table and particularly to a table with a usable table top area that can be changed easily.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Table is an indispensable furniture in the daily life of people in the houses. It can be classified into many types according to use purpose, such as desk, office table, meeting table, dining table and the like. Most tables are fixed in structure and function according to their types, hence do not have much change in use. Take a dining table for instance. Its size varies depending on the size of the accommodating space.
A consumer generally selects and purchases the dining table with a table top area sufficient to accommodate family members in ordinary conditions. However, in the event that there are guests in the house or the number of people to be accommodated increases, the exiting dining table could be inadequate in table top area and result in difficulty to seat all the people together on the table during dining. To resolve such a problem tables with extendable table top area have been developed and marketed for consumers to procure when needed.
For instance, Taiwan Patent No. 345862 discloses a table with changeable table top area. It mainly includes a holding rack, two movable table panels and a middle table panel.

, , When to increase the table top area is wanted, the two movable table panels that are originally positioned in an abreast manner can be pushed towards two sides to form a desired housing space, then the middle panel originally located transversely on the holding rack can be fetched and moved outward from under the two movable table panels, and swiveled in a direction same as the two movable table panels and placed in the housing space. Thereby the table top area can be expanded. However, due to the middle table panel is held under the holding rack in normal conditions and quite large is size, a user has to grasp the middle table panel with two hands at the same time to move it from under the holding rack and place it between the two movable table panels.
Moreover, the user has to bear the total weight of the middle table panel with two hands to do movement. There is no design yet that can help the user to easily move the middle table panel. Hence how to overcome the aforesaid problem and provide a design to facilitate change of table top area is an issue remained to be resolved.
