Abstract

La présente invention concerne un filtre optique abaisseur de fréquence à commutation thermique (TSOD) (100) qui constitue un dispositif auto-régulateur comprenant un convertisseur abaisseur de fréquence (102), lequel convertisseur convertit une lumière entrante à une variété de longueurs d'onde en un rayonnement de plus grande longueur d'onde, puis le dirige au moyen d'un ou de plusieurs filtres de blocage de bande (101, 103) soit dans le sens dirigé vers l'intérieur, soit dans le sens dirigé vers l'extérieur, en fonction de la température du dispositif. Le contrôle du flux d'énergie rayonnante est indépendant de la conductivité thermique ou des propriétés d'isolation du dispositif et peut ou non préserver les propriétés d'image et de couleur d'une lumière visible entrante. Le filtre TSOD (100) a des implications sur le rendement énergétique puisqu'il peut être utilisé pour réguler la température intérieure et l'éclairage de bâtiments, de véhicules et d'autres structures sans recourir à une alimentation externe ou à des signaux d'opérateur. Le filtre TSOD (100) a également des implications esthétiques puisque le dispositif présente des propriétés optiques uniques que l'on ne retrouve pas dans les fenêtres, les puits de lumière, les vitraux, les luminaires, les briques de verre, les briques ou les parois classiques. Il est notamment possible d'utiliser le filtre TSOD (100) comme matériau de construction, mais pas uniquement.
