Abstract
It is now recognized that oxidative stress, an imbalance of antioxidant system against free radicals and reactive oxygen species in ow body, is the basic pathophysiology of many diseases including life-threatening heart disease, stroke, certain cancers, Alzheimer's and age related dementia. Boosting the antioxidant system at specific vulnerable biochemical pathway sites will therefore help to prevent, delay or treat these diseases - an observation confirmed in many studies around the world.
There is no existing patent covering 3 different classes of antioxidant ingredients namely Vitamin, (Vit. C, E.), essential minerals (Selenium) and phytonutrients (proanthocyanidins) and co-factors (Vit. B 12, folic Acid) formulated at optimal doses with minimal side effects. In addition, the composition of Ultra-Vit. Plus is based on the synergistic actions in the newly discovered endogenous antioxidant biochemical system in the body.
Ultra-Vit. Plus formula will contribute immensely in the technical field of integrated preventive medicine and basic understanding of mechanism of action in the biotechnology of antioxidant systems.
The Ultra-Vit. Plus formula applying for patent consist of Vit C 500 mg (as calcium ascorbate) Vit E 400 I.U. (as mixed Vit. E Tocopherals, and Tocotrienols) Folic Acid 0.5mg Vit. B 12 500mcg Selenium 90mcs.
Proanthocyanidins 90mg (mcg) (Equal mixture of maritime Pine Bark Extract and Grape Seed Extract.) In addition, it is applying for patent use for prevention and treatment of oxidative stress and related diseases.

Description
Ultra-Vit. Plus The newly invented formula consists of ingredients from 3 separate classes of compounds:
1 ) Vitamin - Class 1 2) Trace mineral - Class 2 3} Phyto nutrients - Class 3 In the form of 1 ) Class 1 - Vit.C 500 mg (as Calcium Ascorbate) - Vit.E 400 IU. (as mixed Vit.E) - Folic Acid 0.. Sm~.
- B 12 SOOmcg.
2) Class 2 Selenium 90 mcg. (yeast) 3) Class 3 Proanthocyanidin 90 mcg. As Maritime Pine Bark Extract 90 mg and Grape Seed Extract at equal proportions.
A search of existing patent failed to show any formula 1 ) with 3 separate classes of ingredients.
2) Or with identical compounds in Ultra-Vit. Plus.
3) Or identical doses of these compounds used in combination.
The ingredients and the doses employed are unique in this formula because 1 ) It is the optimal effective doses of each compound operating and producing the maximal therapeutic action.
2) The triple synergistic action of the compounds e.g. Vit.C-Vit.E-Glutathione Selenium system.
Latest research indicate this is the most effective endogenous natural occurring defense system in the body to counter the ravaging, life-threatening damage of reactive oxygen species and free radicals produce in the body or environment.
3) Folic Acid-B12 are:
- Anti-mutagenic - Anti-anemic - Anti-homocysteinemic - Neuroprotective - Essential for blood cell production and function and DNA & RNA stabilization and replication 4) Proantocynidins as Maritime Pine Bark & Grape seed extracts in equal amounts in the most powerful antioxidant known with antiplatelet antithrombotic and immune system enhance properties.
This formula is new and unique in view of the specific synergistic action of specific ingredients of 3 classes at specific proportions mimicking the endogenous antioxidant system, enhancing their protective action plus the dynamic antitumor, antithrombotic and cardiac protective effects.
It will be a gold standard for preventive medicine against:
1 ) Cardiac vascular disease 2) Cancer 3) Alzheimer's and age related dementia and illnesses 4) 80 other diseases caused or attributed to oxidative stress as listed in Annuals of Internal Medicine (American College of Physicians) 1987; 1097:526-545.
