Abstract
Cet équipement de freinage électromagnétique est constitué par une alimemtation électrique et par un inducteur électromagnétique plurienroulements (1) du type "stator polyphasé de moteur linéaire à champ glissant" destiné à être monté en regard d'une face du produit coulé, notamment au niveau d'une grande paroi (14) de la lingotière de coulée de brames d'acier (12), et comprenant des enroulements (A, B) connectés à l'alimentation électrique. Cette dernière est constituée par une pluralité d'alimentations élémentaires (8, 9) à courant continu pourvues chacune de moyens de réglage propres (10, 11) de l'intensité de courant qu'elles délivrent, chacun des enroulements (A, B) de l'inducteur étant connectable à l'une de ces alimentations élémentaires (8, 9) et à elle seule. L'équipement permet de régler la localisation de l'action de freinage en lingotière à tout moment, même en cours de coulée, sans nécessiter de modifier la position de l'inducteur.
