More particularly, the present invention refers to a modular cabin to be assembled in a manufacturing plant and transported to any desired location where the installed equipment is required, however, the cabin may be transported disassembled and assembled in the desired location with the equipment being mounted in such location.
In the present specification the term "equipment"
is intended for referring to any kind of products, apparatii, devices, instruments, machines, preferably employed in general public services such as telephone services, electricity supplying services, cellular telephone services, antennas for telephone services, broadcasting equipment, gas distribution equipment, etc.
2. Description of the Prior Art.
It is well known that the several public services such as telephony, cellular phones, cable TV, natural gas provision, etc., is being rapidly expanded from huge towns radially to the country and far away places in the country.
This is causing the Service Companies to install, close to the cities or towns the new services are to be provided, a several necessary equipment for supplying, controlling, repeating, etc., telephone signals, TV signals, gas pressures, voltages, etc. The installation of this several equipment, requires in turn of small constructions, sometimes temporary buildings, because there are few possibilities of building a large and complex structure for the mounting and installation of such equipment.
It would be therefore very convenient to have a transportable modular cabin for providing a solution where such equipment is necessary, such as for communication services, energy services among others, using conventional or new technology, the cabins providing advantages such as, large industrial scale production, less time consuming, reduced storage volume, lower transportation costs, and ease of building and installation in any place.
SUI~lARY OF THE INVENTION
It is therefore one object of the present invention to provide a portable modular cabin to allocate and install service equipment such as for electrical or telecommunication supply in remote places, the cabin providing a reduction in the costs of building the same for service equipment, the cabin being suitable for the environment by using recycled material to make such cabin but being enough resistant to provide the necessary sheltering for the installed equipment theft, intrusion attempts, vandalism, weather conditions.
It is a further object of the invention to provide a cabin that does not need maintenance, nor painting and it is totally waterproof, allowing the construction of the cabin in floodable zones without any risk of suffering any damage to the equipment placed inside the cabin, the cabin also having a lower coefficient of thermal conductivity, it is made with recyclable materials which are not toxic and fireproofing and it is UV proof, with all of the aforementioned giving the cabin a long lasting life, and the structural support of the cabin providing a security cabin inhibiting theft, vandalism or intrusion attempts offering a safe place for the installation of highly cost equipment.
It is still another object of the invention to provide It is a further object of the present invention to provide Additional objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will be set forth in part in the description which follows, and in part will become apparent to those skilled in the art upon examination of the following or may be learned by practice of the invention.
The objects and advantages of the invention may be realized and attained by means of the instrumentalities and combinations particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The present invention is illustrated by way of example in the following drawings wherein:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a modular cabin according to the object of the present invention;
FIG. 2 is a top plan cross-sectional view representing the perimeter of the cabin of FIG. 1;
FIG. 3 is a partial and sectional perspective view of an embodiment of a couple of panels engaged to construct the walls, floor and roof of the cabin of FIGS. 1 and 2.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
Now referring in detail to the drawings it may be seen from FIGS. 1-3 a modular cabin according to the invention is indicated by reference number 1 and comprises a cubic resistant structure formed by structural shapes, more particularly the cabin is a modular transportable cabin for allocation and installation of public service equipment, the cabin comprising a cubical resistant frame comprised of horizontal structural members, namely bottom or lower 3 and upper 4 horizontal members, and vertical structural members 2 defining the corners of the frame and cabin, all members being connected to each other.
The cabin includes a plurality engaging panels 5, preferably hollow panels engaged to each other by respective lateral ends or sides, FIG. 3, of each panel, the engaged panels defining walls 6, 6', 7 and 7', as well as a roof R and a floor F of the cabin. Panels 5 are mounted in, and connected to, the frame, more particularly to the structural members.
Lower crosspiece or member 3 includes openings 8 for receiving the forks from a forklift truck (not illustrated) well known in the art, the openings permitting the cabin to be easily lifted and moved inside a building construction or similar or can even be loaded in a truck for further transportation. In addition, vertical members 2 include engaging members 4' for safely locking a rein or strap of a lifting machine such as a tower crane or a gantry crane (not shown).
At least one of the walls such as the front wall 6 comprises an opening wherein a door 9 is placed to gain access to the inside of the cabin 1. A side wall 7 includes an inlet/outlet ventilation opening with an air conditioning apparatus 10, therefore providing the necessary ventilation to the equipment and personnel inside the cabin 1. Additionally, front wall 6 includes and opening 11 defining a passage for cables and other conductors allowing the connection thereof to equipment 13 allocated and installed inside cabin 1. Side wall 7 also has an opening 12 which can be used to place a window for ventilation and or illumination purposes.
Now referring to Fig. 2, such walls opposite to walls 6 and 7 illustrated in Fig 1 are now numbered as 6' and 7'. In said walls 6' and 7' equipment 13, preferably equipment useful in operation and supplying of public services, is mounted and installed. Equipment 13 may comprise a plurality of devices arranged in the perimeter of the cabin and adjacent to the walls, more preferably at the inner sides of at least part of the walls.
Equipment 13 may comprise a plurality of devices, apparatii, machines, etc., preferably employed by public services supplying companies, a such equipment may be telecommunication equipment, electronics, control equipment, public service equipment, cable TV, TV
broadcastings, smoke detectors and fire extinguishers mounted at least in the inner side of the walls of the cabin.
Door 9 provide access to at least one aisle 14 which in turn provides access to service equipment 13 allocated within the cabin. The aisle defines a center hallway between devices 13 placed in the adjacent walls.
Said center hallway can be used as a walkthrough for the maintenance personnel so that they can easily reach all the devices to perform any maintenance task required.
Inside of the cabin 1, more precisely on the inner part 6i and 7i of the walls 6 and 7 respectively, fixing and connection elements may be arranged in order to provide the devices 13 with support, energy supply, air or gas supply, or whatever kind of supply the devices may need. On the other hand, the inner part of the roof (not illustrated) of cabin 1 can be used to install detection devices such as smoke detectors and sprinklers and also illuminating devices such as lamps or reflectors.
Now referring to Fig 3, the inventive cabin is made from hollow panels 5 that are preferably made of reinforced polymers, and are engaged to each other from respective complementary side ends defining engaging walls 15 and 16.
Each panel includes inner partition walls 17 extending along the panel length, with corresponding longitudinal compartments 18 being defined between the partition walls within each panel. Each partition wall includes through openings 19 communicating adjacent compartments 18 of a panel and compartments 18 of adjacent panels joined through their end walls 15, 16.
Depending on the needs that the cabin must be subject to, panels 5 can be provided with fluting irons or reinforcing plates 21 that extends along each of the compartments 18. Likewise, panels 5 can be filled with any kind of proper fillers, such as concrete or polymers, indicated by general reference number 20 in FIG. 3, in order to provide the cabin 1 with a thermal isolation and/or a grater structural stiffness and strength.
