Abstract

Procédé et appareil permettant d'optimiser la communication d'un contenu numérique sur un réseau d'ordinateurs. Un utilisateur spécifie à l'aide de sa fonction survol, les données audio et vidéo qu'il veut voir apparaître sur son écran. Plusieurs serveurs situés sur le réseau lui sont présentés; chaque serveur contenant au moins une copie d'un contenu numérique spécifié présenté dans au moins un format numérique. Les distances électroniques relatives sur le réseau existant entre le terminal de l'utilisateur et les serveurs identifiés sont également fournies à l'utilisateur pour qu'il puisse sélectionner lui-même un serveur identifié ayant le contenu numérique spécifié dans le format désigné et qui se trouve électroniquement proche du terminal de l'utilisateur.
