Abstract

La présente invention concerne des résines polyester à fonction carboxyle que l'on peut obtenir en faisant réagir (a) au moins un composé de la formule (I) dans laquelle x ? 1; R¿1? et R¿2? peuvent chacun représenter un groupe alkyle contenant de 1 à 4 atomes de carbone; ou bien R¿1? et R¿2? peuvent former ensemble le résidu d'un groupe cyclo-alkyle cyclique (A1), éventuellement mélangé à des quantités moindres d'un composé correspondant de la formule (I) dans laquelle x=0, ou un anhydride de ce groupe (A2); (b) au moins un composé diol B contenant deux groupes hydroxyles aliphatiques qui peuvent chacun représenter indépendamment un groupe hydroxyle primaire ou secondaire; (c) éventuellement, un composé acide dihydroxymonocarboxylique C contenant un groupe carboxyle aliphatique tertiaire et deux groupes hydroxyles aliphatiques qui peuvent chacun représenter indépendamment un hydroxyle primaire ou secondaire; et (d) éventuellement, un trihydroxyalkane (D1) ou un tétrahydroxyalkane (D2). Le rapport molaire des composés (A1+A2):B:C:D1:D2 est égal à X+Y+2Z+3Q+P:X:Y:Z:Q, où X est situé entre 1 et 8, Y entre 0 et 8, Z entre 0 et 4, Q entre 0 et 3 et P entre 1 et 5, de préférence entre 1 et 3 et, idéalement, P est égal à 1 et ce, pour une température située entre 100 et 240, jusqu'à ce que presque tous les groupes hydroxyles présents initialement dans le mélange réactionnel aient réagi. L'invention se rapporte enfin à des esters polyglycidyles linéaires ou ramifiés dérivés de ces résines et des compositions de revêtement en poudre contenant l'une ou les deux catégories de ces types d'ester.
