Abstract

Cette invention concerne un système de séparation d'huile et autres contaminants non miscibles d'un plan d'eau par exemple. Le système fait appel à des fibres creuses microporeuses assemblées de différentes façons : en faisceau, en croisé, en rangées divergentes ou parallèles, ou selon une combinaison de ces agencements. Les fibres creuses sont reliées à une source de pression négative servant à forcer les contaminants à y pénétrer par leurs pores en vue de leur stockage ultérieur dans un récipient approprié. En intégrant au système un moyen acceptable de régulation de la masse volumique, on peut faire en sorte d'exposer une part considérable de la surface des fibres creuses au contaminant et ainsi accroître l'efficacité du procédé de dépollution du plan d'eau. Le système envisagé peut être du type autonome. Il présente un avantage certain par rapport aux systèmes antérieurs du fait d'une efficacité d'extraction hautement améliorée dans tous les types d'environnements. Il s'avère également utile pour séparer le pétrole brut, les métaux et d'autres éléments dissous de la phase aqueuse.
