Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de production de particules coulantes et non agglutinantes à base de silicate de métal alcalin que l'on peut transformer en particules légères spumeuses par dilatation thermique. Le procédé selon l'invention consiste à produire à une température sélectionnée un gel aqueux rhéoépaisissant comprenant, en tant que composant principal aqueux, un silicate de métal alcalin présent sous forme dissoute, et la partie non aqueuse du gel représentant d'environ 38 à 65 % (poids/poids); à appliquer des forces de cisaillement supérieures aux caractéristiques de réponse d'écoulement du gel de sorte que la viscosité de ce dernier soit suffisamment élevée pour créér une discontinuité dans celui-ci, provoquer sa rupture et la formation de particules séparées. Lesdites particules séparées sont ensuite traitées en tant qu'entités séparées de sorte qu'une peau empêchant leur agglomération ou leur coalescence se forme sur ces dernières. Les particules ainsi traitées sont ensuite séchées afin de former des particules présentant un taux d'humidité d'environ 5 à 40 % (poids/poids).
