Abstract
L'invention concerne une méthode d'épilation cutanée permanente ainsi qu'un appareil pour mettre en oeuvre celle-ci. Cette méthode qui consiste à insérer un filament conducteur dans le follicule de chaque poil à éliminer et à appliquer à l'aide de ce filament, un courant galvanique d'intensité donnée, un courant HF
d'intensité donnée ou une combinaison de ces deux courants au follicule du poil pour détruire la racine de ce dernier par l'électrolyse, thermolyse ou les deux, est caractérisée en ce que l'intensité d'au moins un des courants appliqués au follicule est modulée durant la durée de l'application lors d'une même insertion pour ainsi permettre une épilation permanente tout en réduisant la douleur perçue par le patient. Avantageusement, la modulation en intensité du courant est effectuée en discontinu, selon une suite de séquences de durée variant d'une fraction de seconde à plusieurs secondes, le courant appliqué durant chaque séquence successive étant d'intensité constante, cette intensité étant elle-même identique aux intensités des séquences précédentes ou différentes de celles-ci.
