Abstract

"MOLéCULAS DE DNA CODIFICANDO QUITINASE A PARTIR DE ALGODãO EXPRESSAS PREFERIVELMENTE EM CéLULAS DE PAREDES SECUNDáRIAS DURANTE A DEPOSIçãO DE PAREDE SECUNDáRIA E UM PROMOTOR CORRESPONDENTE". A presente invenção refere-se a uma molécula de ácido nucléico isolada codificando uma quinase de algodão endógena e seu promotor, os quais são preferencialmente expressos em células de parede secundárias durante deposições nas paredes secundárias. Também são revelados o polipeptídeo codificado pela molécula de ácido nucléico, um constructo de DNA encadeando a molécula de ácido nucléico isolada com um promotor, o constructo de DNA incorporado em um sistema de expressão, uma célula hospedeira, uma planta, ou uma semente de planta. A presente invenção também se refere a um constructo de DNA encadeando o promotor isolado com um segundo DNA bem como sistemas de expressão, células hospedeiras, plantas ou sementes de plantas contendo o constructo de DNA. Também são revelados métodos para conferir resistência a insetos e fungos, regular o teor de celulose da fibra, e métodos para expressar um gene preferencialmente em células de parede secundárias durante deposição da parede secundária.
