Abstract

<B>INSTRUMENTO CIRúRGICO ENDOSCóPICO<D>. Um instrumento cirúrgico compreende um tubo interno o qual gira em um tubo externo e porta uma ferramenta cirúrgica que inclui um trépano para cortar tecido exposto ao trépano através de uma abertura no tubo externo. O instrumento inclui várias características que aumenta a eficiência na qual os fragmentos de tecido cortados pelo trépano são aspirados através do tubo interno, e que permitem que o trépano corte eficazmente tecido relativamente macio bem como tecido mais duro como osso. Por exemplo, o trépano inclui uma haste próxima tendo uma parede que tem uma abertura na mesma substancialmente com uma largura em relação a um diâmetro externo da parede para transportar fragmentos de tecido cortados pelo trépano para dentro de uma câmara interior da haste, e de lá para dentro de uma passagem no tubo interno. A abertura no tubo externo é axialmente alongada suficientemente para expor uma porção maior da abertura. A abertura grande e sua exposição pela abertura externa do tubo reduzem o risco de obstrução por admissão de fragmentos maiores de tecido para dentro do tubo interno para aspiração. Adicionalmente, o trépano inclui uma pluralidade de entalhes que são axialmente alongados e inclinados transversalmente em relação às estrias, e os entalhes definem uma pluralidade de entalhes axialmente espaçados em cada um dos gumes. Os entalhes dividem os gumes em segmentos relativamente pequenos que produzem fragmentos de tecido correspondentemente pequenos (mesmo quando o trépano é utilizado para cortar tecido macio) para reduzir ainda mais o risco de obstrução. Além disso, os gumes são preferivelmente dotados de uma inclinação positiva que torna os gumes mais afiados e adequados para corte eficaz, ao invés de rasgar ou picotar, tecido relativamente macio.
