A presente invenção se refere a resíduos de metais pesados contendo catalisador, obtidos de plantas para a produção de ácido policarboxílico aromático, que são processados pela substancial dissolução do resíduo total em um meio aquoso, sendo os metais catalisadores precipitados na solução, por meio de, preferivelmente, íons de carbonato e/ou bicarbonato.<B> '' METHOD FOR RECOVERING RESIDUAL QUANTITIES OF HEAVY METAL CATALYST OF COBALT AND MANGANESE '' <D>. The present invention relates to heavy metal residues containing catalyst, obtained from plants for the production of aromatic polycarboxylic acid, which are processed by the substantial dissolution of the total residue in an aqueous medium, with the catalyst metals being precipitated in the solution, by means of, preferably, carbonate and / or bicarbonate ions.
