Abstract
"PROCESSO E APARELHO DE TESTAR MOEDAS, USO DE UM APARELHO DE TESTAR MOEDAS, DISPOSITIVO OPERADO POR MOEDA OU FICHA, E, PROCESSO DE RECONHECER UMA MOEDA". é apresentado um processa para testar moedas, no qual um feixe de laser (13) é dirigido sobre uma face de uma moeda (4) e um detector de laser (3) é usado para detectar onde o feixe de laser é interceptado pela moeda e onde o feixe de laser não é interceptado pela moeda, de modo a obter uma indicação sobre uma característica dimensional da fase da moeda. A caracaterística da moeda é usada para identificar a moeda. A invenção se refere também a aparelho para testar moedas, que compreende uma fonte de laser (11) para dirigir um feixe de laser (13) sobre uma face de uma moeda (4), um detector de laser (3) para detectar onde o laser é interceptado pela moeda e onde o laser não é interceptado pela moeda, e um processador de sinal (14) que obtém uma indicação, a partir de uma saída do detector de laser (3), de uma característica da face da moeda que é usada para identificar a moeda.
