<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Wedge wire clamp for all types of cables.
The present invention relates to a wedge wire clamp for cables of all types. Known wedge clamps are made of malleable iron or copper alloys. They have the disadvantage that by being in compulsory contact with the cable to be tightened, there is always a risk of electrolytic corrosion. In addition, clamps of this kind have a relatively high weight which presents a disadvantage for transport, during assembly and in suspension fields.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
These drawbacks are avoided in accordance with the invention with the aid of a wedge clamp made of a thermosetting material such as an unsaturated polyester resin, an epoxy resin or a similar resin preferably comprising , a reinforcing material, for example glass fibers. These wedge clamps of heat-hardening material mixed with a reinforcing material have, in addition to high strength, excellent insulating characteristics and high corrosion resistance. Any electrolytic corrosion is excluded. In addition, they have a lower specific weight than metal clamps.
The attached figure, given by way of example, shows schematically in elevation a thread clamp according to the invention.
Reference 1 designates the clamp body, reference 2 designates the cable and reference 3 designates the wedge. The wall thickness of the clamping body depends on the forces to which the latter has to undergo and is preferably comprised between 2 and 8 mm.
