Abstract
A light bulb fixture with a built-in switch function to change output colour for illumination comprising: a
glass shade, LED filament strips, a support pole, a LED driver circuit board, a plastic ring, a switch cap, a
silicon ring and a lamp holder. The glass shade is a transparent or coloured glass cover. The LED filament
strips comprise two types of LEDs: a first type that emits warm white light; and a second type that emits
cool white light. The circuit board is configured to turn on either the warm white light LEDs, the cool white
light LEDs, or both the warm and cool white light LEDs. The circuit board receives on/off signals from a wall
switch. If a user turns off the wall switch within 10 seconds after turning it on, and then quickly turns it back
on again, the circuit board will change the emitted light colour.

Description
1. Field of Invention
This invention is about light bulb fixture with built-in switch function to change output colour for illumination systems.
2. Background
LED bulb in the market is available in single colour, its usually in warm white, cool white or daylight. Consumers often struggle to differentiate between various LED bulb colours prior to purchase. Ordinary user may not know the different between these colour in single colour LED light bulb. The result is the LED light bulb they bought may not be a good light source for the purpose.
In other scenario, if use already has a few light bulb and they need to replace a faulty light bulb with a new LED light bulb, they need to match the light colour with the existing bulbs, they need the flexibility of the getting a correct output colour LED light bulb, its difficult to match with single colour LED light bulb.
Furthermore, user don't have the option to change the light colour with the single colour light bulb. In different application or user's mood, user might need to change the light colour of the light bulb, but this is not possible with the single colour light bulb.
3. Summary of Invention
In the body of LED bulbs, see main figure, from top to bottom, including Glass shade, LED Filament strip, Support Pole, LED driver circuit board, Plastic ring, Switch cap, Silicon ring, Lamp holder.
* Component 1
The Glass shade has a transparent or coloured glass cover to protect the internal components. It help to keep the internal components from dust and water, to keep the internal circuit clean for properly working. The Glass shade in different colour finish can also help to provide different look-and-feel. For example the clear colour can provide highest light output, the amber colour of the shade can render the light output with more warmer look, more close to classical light bulb look, and also red, green, blue can provide different colour look for the bulb. The Glass shade bottom is open as a neck to insert into lamp holder part, together become a close compartment for internal components.
Component 2
The LED Filament strips, usually 4 strips, but sometimes 3, 2, or 1, depending on the desired shape. LED Filament strip is the diode spread on the linear strip, and when electron run through, the strip will light up and provide the required light. On the strip, the LED diode has manufactured to have 2 type of LED diode, first type is capable of emitting warm white colour light output, second type of LED diode is capable of emitting cool white colour light output. When the circuit board switch to turn on warm white only, the first type LED diode will be turned on and light output warm white colour. When the circuit board switch to turn on cool white only, then second type of LED diode will be turned on and light output cool white. When circuit board switch to turn on daylight colour, both the first type of LED diode warm white and second type LED diode cool white will be turned on, the mix colour output in daylight is rendered. In this technology, 3 type of light colour can be output with 2 type of LED diode.
Component 3
Support pole is glass pole or plastic pole. Its used to support the LED strips. The pole can support and secure the strips in the compartment, so that they don't collapse or move around inside the compartment. The pole also forms the strip in certain angle which makes the overall look are good and tidy.
Component 4
The LED driver circuit board is at the bottom of the Support pole, it secures the Support pole from the bottom, make sure the pole is not loose and stand straight in the compartment. The LED driver circuit is the main driving part of the light. The external electricity, usually city power line in 120~24OV, comes from external cable, to the lamp holder and feed to the input part of the circuit board, and convert into LED chip required current and light up the LED diode on the LED Filament strips.
The LED driver circuit board which locates at the bottom part of the Support pole, can be seen from the outside of the glass. It can receive or emit electron signal from inside of the glass. In this invention, a control unit can received on/off signal from the wall switch: within 10 seconds after user turn on wall switch for the LED light bulb, user turn off the wall switch and quickly turn back on, the circuit board receive this signal and change the light colour output. User can repeat the action in the 10 second time frame, and the light colour output will cycle from warm white, cool white and daylight.
If the user decide the needed colour and no further action in 10 seconds, the colour of the light will stay on the current setting.
The light output will remain the same as previous state as it last turn on. The previous colour selected will be remembered.
In this way, user can use the wall switch to control the light colour output of the light bulb.
* Component 5 and Component 7
Between the circuit board and the lamp holder cap, is the Silicon ring and Plastic ring. The Silicon ring and Plastic ring secure the circuit board in place, make sure the board is not moving away. The Silicon ring and Plastic ring protect the electron expose to the lamp holder cap, prevent the short-circuit happens to the circuit board from the lamp holder cap. It creates a electron isolation for the internal circuit, its a safe mechanism for the device.
* Component 6
On the plastic ring, there is a curve Switch cap, attach to the plastic ring. There are 3 select options on the ring: warm white, cool white and daylight. User can slide this Switch cap to select output colour of the LED light bulb. The Switch cap allow user to cycle through different colour setting, warm white, cool white and daylight. Select the corresponding option, will result in the circuit changes, and circuit board will change the colour output of the LED light bulb.
* Component 8
The bottom of the structure is the Lamp holder. The lamp holder is a metal case. Its normally a Edison screw type for general compatibility. The lamp holder includes a metal large screw type case, fixed onto a electron insulation material, normally plastic, and the end bottom is a metal plate at the other end of the insulation material. The 2 metal part are separated by the insulation. The metal part allows the current goes into the circuit board with Live end and Neutral end. The Lamp holder connects with the top Glass shade to complete the full out side body of the LED globe. The Glass shade is usually screw and with glue to secure with the Lamp holder.
4. Conclusion
This invention provide a new method of including 3 LED colour output options in 1 single LED bulb. With the selectable colour output options, user can buy 1 LED bulb and use it in all different applications without the limitation of colour output. It provide 2 method to change the bulb colour output. It also helps to reduce the carbon footprint through the manufacture cycle, more environment friendly with less consumption on material and energy during manufacture and supply chain.
