Our Ref: 88771nno P/00/009 Regulation 3.2 AUSTRALIA Patents Act 1990
Invention title: Ladder Used For Building Structure
Name of Applicant: QIAN, Siyu
Address for Service A.P.T. Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys PO Box 833 Blackwood, S.A. 5051
The invention is described in the following statement:
1. Technical Field
[0001] The present disclosure generally relates to construction tools for building
structures field, and especially relates to a ladder used for a building structure.
2. Description of Related Art
[0002] It is well known that ladders are widely used in construction projects, especially
herringbone ladders. The herringbone ladder, as a kind of climbing tool used for decoration and
other work in a space above a plane, generally includes a front ladder member and a rear ladder
member rotatably connected with the front ladder member. An isosceles triangle is formed
between the front and rear ladder members and the ground during using the ladder so that it is
looked like a "person", thereby the herringbone ladder is so-called. Because the front ladder
member can rotatably connected with the rear ladder member so that the herringbone ladder can
be folded, thereby it has the advantages of minimize space to occupy, easy to receive, light in
weight and convenient movement. So, such herringbone ladder can be conveniently used via
expanding out the front ladder member and the rear ladder member in a herringbone-shape
without leaning on other objects. In addition, for a bottom surface of an apparatus can't meet
the conditions of the herringbone ladder in place, the herringbone ladder can also be folded into a
linear ladder to be used. However, in the market, the herringbone ladder, when it can be folded
to be used as the linear ladder, mostly has a same height as its original height, even the height
beyond the original height, thereby a poor fixation effect can be obtained.
[00031 The technical problems to be solved: in view of the shortcomings of the related art,
the present disclosure relates to a ladder used for a building structure which can be optionally
exchanged between a herringbone ladder and a linear ladder, and have a good structural strength
while obtaining a higher height than an original height of the herringbone ladder when it is
exchanged as the linear ladder.
[0004] The technical solution adopted for solving technical problems of the present
disclosure is:
a ladder used for a building structure includes a main member, a secondary
member, a connecting rod and a fixing rod. The main member includes a plurality of horizontal
rungs, a pair of first rails symmetrically fixed with two opposite ends of the horizontal rung, and
a groove formed at a side of the first rail. The secondary member also includes a plurality of
horizontal rungs and a pair of second rails symmetrically fixed with two opposite ends of the
horizontal rung. The amount of the horizontal rung is measured according to actual usage of the
height of the ladder. The second rail includes a fixing block formed on its bottom at a side near
the main member to fix with the groove. One end of the connecting rod is rotatably connected
with the bottom of the first rail, and the other end of the connecting rod is slidably connected with
the bottom of the second rail. One portion of the fixing rod is hinged with the top of the first
rail, and the other portion can be clamped with the top of the second rail.
[0005] Wherein the second rail includes a sliding rail axially formed thereon, and the connecting rod includes a sliding portion slidably connected with the sliding rail.
[0006] Wherein the sliding rail includes an upper clamping slot and a lower clamping
slot respectively formed on two opposite ends thereof so that the sliding portion can be clamped
with the upper clamping slot and the lower clamping slot, respectively.
[0007] Wherein the groove includes a first groove and a second groove, with the bottom
of the first groove being connected with the top of the second groove, the fixing block can be
clamped into the first groove and slide in the first groove and the second groove.
[0008] Wherein the ladder further includes a fixing member, a fixing hole is formed on
the bottom of the first groove and a second fixing hole is formed on an end of the sliding rail
near the lower clamping slot so that the fixing member can fix with the first fixing hole and the
second fixing hole, respectively.
[0009] The present disclosure provides the advantages as below.
[0010] The structure of the present disclosure can be optionally exchanged between a
herringbone ladder and a linear ladder, and have a good structural strength while obtaining a
higher height than an original height of the herringbone ladder when it is exchanged as the linear
ladder.
[0011] Many aspects of the embodiments can be better understood with reference to the
following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the
emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the embodiments.
Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the
several views.
[0012] FIG. 1 is a schematic view of the ladder used for a building structure in
accordance with an exemplary embodiment, showing the ladder as a linear ladder.
[0013] FIG. 2 is another schematic view of the ladder used for a building structure of FIG.
1, but showing the ladder expandable as a herringbone ladder.
[0014] FIG. 3 is a partial enlarged schematic view of part A of the ladder of FIG. 2.
[0015] FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of the ladder along line a-a of FIG. 3.
[00161 FIG. 5 is a partial enlarged schematic view of part B of the ladder of FIG. 2
[00171 FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view of the ladder along line b-b of FIG. 5.
[00181 FIG. 7 is a schematic view of a connecting rod of the ladder of FIG. 1.
[0019] The element labels according to the exemplary embodiment of the present
disclosure shown as below:
main member 1, first rail 11, groove 111, first groove portion 1111, second groove
portion 1112, first fixing hole 12, secondary member 2, second rail 21, fixing block 211,
slidingrail212, upper clamping slot 2121, lower clamping slot 2122, second fixing hole 22,
horizontal rung 3, fixingrod4, connectingrod5, sliding portion 51, fixingmember6.
[0020] The disclosure is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation in the
figures of the accompanying drawings, in which like reference numerals indicate similar elements.
[0021] Referring to FIGS. 1-7, a ladder used for a building structure in accordance with
an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure is provided. The ladder includes a main
member 1, a secondary member 2, a fixing rod 4 and a connecting rod 5. The main member 1
includes a plurality of horizontal rungs 3, a pair of first rails11 symmetrically fixed with two
opposite ends of the horizontal rung 3, and a groove 111 formed at a side of the first rail 11.
The secondary member 2 also includes a plurality of horizontal rungs 3 and a pair of second rails
21 symmetrically fixed with two opposite ends of the horizontal rung 3. The amount of the
horizontal rung 3 is measured according to actual usage of the height of the ladder. The second
rail 21 includes a fixing block 211 formed on its bottom at a side near the main member 1 to fix
with the groove 111. One end of the connecting rod 5 is rotatably connected with the bottom of
the first rail 11, and the other end of the connecting rod 5 is slidably connected with the bottom of
the second rail 21. One portion of the fixing rod 4 is hinged with the top of the first rail 11, and
the other portion can be clamped with the top of the second rail 21.
[0022] Based on the above solution, the ladder of the present disclosure used in
construction projects generally has two forms: a herringbone ladder and a linear ladder. When
the fixing rod 4 is tightly fixed with the top of the second rail 21, one end of the connecting rod 5
far away from the first rail 11 is slid on the second rail 21 until the connecting rod 5 is parallel to
the ground, the ladder is used as a herringbone ladder. While, when the fixing rod 4 is
disengaged from the second rail 21 and turns to a same axial direction of the first rail 11, and then, the secondary member 2 is moved towards the main member 1. In this condition, due to the action of the connecting rod 5, the secondary member 2 will be lifted, and the fixing block 211 at the bottom of the secondary member 2 will be embedded into the groove 111, at this time, the ladder is used as a linear ladder. In this way, the ladder used for a building structure can be optionally exchanged between the herringbone ladder and the linear ladder, and obtaining a higher height than an original height of the herringbone ladder when it is exchanged as the linear ladder.
[00231 Referring to FIG. 5, FIG. 6 and FIG. 7, the second rail 21 includes a sliding rail
212 axially formed thereon, and the connecting rod 5 includes a sliding portion 51 slidably
connected with the sliding rail 212.
[0024] Furthermore, the sliding rail 212 includes an upper clamping slot 2121 and a
lower clamping slot 2122 respectively formed on two opposite ends thereof so that the sliding
portion 51 can be clamped with the upper clamping slot 2121 and the lower clamping slot 2122,
respectively. When the sliding portion 51 is clamped with the upper clamping slot 2121, the
ladder is used as the linear ladder. While, when the sliding portion 51 is clamped with the lower
clamping slot 2122, the ladder is used as the herringbone ladder.
[0025] Referring to FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, the groove 111 includes a first groove 1111 and a
second groove 1112. The bottom of the first groove 1111 is connected with the top of the
second groove 1112. The fixing block 211 can be clamped into the first groove 1111 and slide
in the first groove 1111 and the second groove 1112. When the bottom of the fixing block 211 is attached onto the bottom of the second groove 1112, the ladder is used as the linear ladder.
[00261 In order to obtain a good fixation effect during folding the herringbone ladder, the
ladder used for the building structure further includes a fixing member 6. A fixing hole 12 is
formed on the bottom of the first groove 1111 and a second fixing hole 2 is formed on an end of
the sliding rail 212 near the lower clamping slot 2122, at this time, the fixing member 6 can fix
with the second fixing hole 22. When the ladder is used as the linear ladder, the fixing member
6 is fixed with the first fixing hole 12. In addition, under the action of the fixing member 6, the
secondary member 2 is firmly attached to the main member 1, which can increase thefixation
strength of the linear ladder. When the ladder is used as the herringbone ladder, the fixing
member 6 is fixed with the second fixing hole 22. Furthermore, under the action of the fixing
member 6, the sliding portion 51 of the connecting rod 5 is firmly fixed with the lower clamping
slot 2122, thereby the fixation strength of the herringbone ladder can be increased.
