Abstract

Headgear is disclosed that assists in protecting the wearer against forms of injury, especially skin damage from the elements and in particular sunburn and windburn, the headgear comprising a fabric wall which substantially surrounds the face and neck of the wearer and has in it an aperture for locating adjacent the wearer's eyes to allow vision. The wall is lightweight, flexible and porous and has stiffening means at the periphery of the aperture so as to support the aperture in open configuration in a vision-facilitating position adjacent the eyes of a wearer.
