Description

A CIGARETTE EXTINGUISHER
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present invention relates to cigarette extinguishers.
BACKGROUD
[0002] There are known more than 3800 kinds of chemical substances contained in cigarette smoke, of which about 250 are toxic or carcinogenic for human, mainly including tar, nicotine, carbonic oxide, and the like. Smoking has become a public nuisance, wherein the carcinogenic rate of “second-hand smoke, third-hand smoke” for involuntary smokers is much higher than that of smokers. Exposure to the so-called “second hand smoke” is involuntary smoking in a passive manner, which is suffered from the tobacco smoke. The substances emitted with tobacco smoke indoors, is the most widespread and most serious indoor air pollution and also a major cause of death. The so-called “third-hand smoke” refers to tobacco residues that are remained on the clothes, walls, carpets, furniture, and even hairs and skin surfaces, and so on, after smokers have smoked. The retention of tobacco residues may last for a few days, several weeks or even several months. Residue nicotine may react with nitrous acid in the air and produce particularly nitrosamines (TSNA) of tobaccos, which are the most ferocious carcinogens. The hazard of “second and third-hand smoke” cannot be completely eliminated and prevented even though the smokers open windows or fans during smoking, or even smokes outdoors. Air cleaners are typically adopted in the art for decontamination; however the air cleaners are not dedicated for smokes so that the filtering effects of the air cleaners are far from sufficient. The above background of the invention is intended to place the present invention in an appropriate technical context and to allow is significance to be properly appreciated. Any references to prior art should not be construed as admissions that such prior art is widely known or forms part of common general knowledge in the relevant technical field.

[0015] More specific features and advantages of embodiments of the present invention will be further described in the following description and the accompanying drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0016] Preferred embodiments in accordance with the present invention are described below, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying figures, in which the same reference numerals refer to like parts throughout the figures unless otherwise specified, and in which: [0017] FIG 1 is a structure schematic view of a cigarette extinguisher according to one embodiment of the present invention; [0018] FIG 2 is a partial enlarged view of circled portion A in FIG 1; and [0019] FIG 3 is a block diagram of the control system of a cigarette extinguisher according to an embodiment of the present invention.
DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS
[0020] Embodiments of the present invention are disclosed in detail hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0021 ] Referring to FIGs. 1, 2 and 3, a cigarette extinguisher is shown, which includes a main body 1 and a control system 6. A through hole 11 is provide on a top surface of the main body 1. An accommodating chamber 12 communicated with the through hole 11 is arranged in the main body 1. A box is arranged in the accommodating chamber 12. An outlet is provided on a lateral side of the accommodating chamber 12 where an end cap is mounted by means of snap fit. An aspirator 4 is provided on the main body 1, and an air-duct 41 connected with the aspirator 4 is arranged on a lateral wall of the through hole 11; a groove 111 is defined on a lateral wall adjacent to the bottom end of the through hole 11 and connects with a lower cover3; a lead screw 33 is provided in the main body 1 and connected with the lower cover 3 so as to drive the lower cover 3 to move. The through hole 11 can be opened or closed due to the movement of the lower cover 3. Further, a sensor 51 is provided on a top end of the through hole 11. The aspirator 4, the sensor 51 and the lead screw 33 are all connected to the control system 6. When a burning cigarette gets close to the top end of the through hole 11 in the main body 1, the sensor 51 is triggered promptly and then the control system 6 controls the aspirator 4 to operate in order to absorb ash of the cigarette in through the through hole 11 and the air-duct 41 to prevent the ash of the cigarette from falling off everywhere. After a cigarette butt is put into the through hole 11, the control system 6 controls the aspirator 4 to apply a strong suction to extract air from the through hole 11 in order to extinguish the cigarette butt, and then the lead screw 33 drives the lower cover 3 to move and retract inwardly so that the extinguished cigarette butt drops into the box.
[0022] A temperature sensor 32 is arranged in the lower cover 3. A metal plate 31 connected with the temperature sensor 32 is arranged on a top end of the lower cover 3. The temperature sensor 32 is connected to the control system 6. After the cigarette butt is put into the through hole 11, the end of the cigarette butt abuts against the metal plate 31 so that the high temperature of the burning end of the cigarette butt triggers the temperature sensor 32, and then the control system 6 controls the aspirator 4 to apply a strong suction to extract air from the through hole 11 in order to extinguish the cigarette end, and then the lead screw 33 drives the lower cover 3 to move and retract inwardly so that the extinguished cigarette end drops into the box. Later, the lead screw 33 drives the lower cover 3 to return and close the bottom end of the through hole 11 to avoid the smoke spreading outside the box.
[0023] A mounting groove 42 is connected to the air-duct 41. An opening is provided on a top end of the mounting groove 42, and a cover plate 44 is provided at the opening. A carbon bag 43 is arranged in the mounting groove 42. The smoke and the cigarette ash enter into the mounting groove 42 via the through hole 11 and the air-duct 41, and then be filtered by the carbon bag 43, thereby reducing pollution of the cigarette ash and smoke to the air and indoor environments.
[0024] A recess 111 is defined on the top end of the opening, at an end of the recess 111a rotatable cover plate 44 is provided. A retainer ring 42 is provided on the top end of the recess 111. A sealing member 45 corresponding to the retainer ring 42 is arranged on the bottom end of the rotatable cover plate 44. The sealing member 45 comprises an outer sealing unit 451 and an inner sealing unit 452, and the retainer ring 42 is arranged between the outer sealing unit 451 and the inner sealing unit 452. The carbon bag 43 in the mounting groove 42 can be replaced and the interior of the mounting groove 42 can be cleaned after the cover plate is opened. When the cover plate 44 is closed, the outer sealing unit 451 and the inner sealing unit 452 sandwiches the retainer ring 42with good sealing performance. The outer sealing unit 451 and the inner sealing unit 452 compress the opposite sides of the retainer ring 42 respectively and thus positioning the cover.
[0025] In this embodiment, the main body 1 is further provided with an electric cigarette lighter 52 which includes a heater strip and a heater circuit 522. A switch 521 is provided in the heater circuit 522, and the heater circuit 522 and the switch 521 are connected with and controlled by the control system 6 to control the heater strip to light a cigarette. Preferably, the number of times for lighting cigarettes per day is controlled by the control system 6 such that the amount of smoking times is limited.
[0026] Preferably, a display screen 61 is provided on the main body 1 and connects with the control system 6. The display screen 61 displays words, such as “smoking is harmful to your health”, for reminding the smokers to reduce smoking.
[0027] Further, the main body 1 is provided with a recording unit 63 and an audio unit 62 which are connected with the control system 6. The recording unit 63 is configured to record sounds and the audio unit 62 is configured to play the recorded sounds. Sounds of a child can be recorded and played to remind the smoker to reduce smoking when a cigarette is lighted.
[0028] The sensor 51 may an infrared proximity sensor or a smoke sensor.
[0029] It is appreciated that the aforesaid embodiments are only exemplary embodiments adopted to describe the principles of the present invention, and the present invention is not merely limited thereto. Various variants and modifications can be made by those of ordinary skill in the art without departing from the spirit and essence of the present invention, and these variants and modifications are also covered within the scope of the present invention.
